I love Mediterranean cuisine and this place is truly awesome. Pros: Food, staff, service and the owner

First of all, we live in Buckhead and eat out just about every meal. We had heard that Cafe Agora was very good and stopped in and placed a To Go order. We paid for our food, and ...

Best gyro in Buckhead 8/8/2007

Absolutely delicious. Al and his food have the distinct charm one would expect to find in a European city market. My visits have always been very enjoyable and I have personally never been ripped off, in fact I am usually given free sides while I wait or a discounted meal. It run by the type of man who understands the importance of repeat business and word-of-mouth marketing. I eat there almost once a week. Pros: Very fast. Delicious. Great hours. Cons: No real parking. more

Great Food, Great Hospitality and Always a Friendly Face! 8/5/2007

I eat at Cafe Agora at least once a week and it never disappoints! Al (owner) is always there and he demands only the best quality of food and service from his small staff. This is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Buckhead. I have been to other (well-known and very expensive) Greek restaurants in the city and Cafe Agora has better food, service and pricing hands down. I was surprised to see the earlier post about the mistrust in the owner and the experience with samples. Al has sampled me before as well, but it was more like an appetizer. His samples are larger than most appetizers at restaurants and I would expect to pay for a dish that I enjoy and could be a meal for most. I hope you will give Cafe Agora a try and who knows, I may see you there! more

Dishonest owner 3/17/2007

When we entered the cafe, the owner offered us free samples to try what we thought was free samples, he did not tell us that it will be charged. Pros: Nothing Cons: Dishonest owner more

Dishonest owner 3/16/2007

When we entered the cafe, the owner offered us free samples to try what we thought was free samples, he did not tell us that it will be charged. Than we ordered 3 gyros and went to pay our food. He charged $13 for the plate of food we thought it was samples as well as $3 extra than the menu stated for gyros. When we questioned the price, he answered us rudely. I am sure I wont be going there anymore especially when I have guests. Shortly, I dont recommend CAFE AGORA due to dishonest pricing and stale food. Pros: Nothing Cons: Dishonest owner more

Awesome family owned restaurant!!! 2/18/2007

I randomly came across this place and decided to try it out for lunch and it was amazing. I ordered a gyro, and you could see it being made fresh from the kitchen. Sure enough, when I got it, it was still smoking hot and tasted better than any gyro Ive had in Atlanta. The owner was extremely friendly and after I had my lunch, he gave me a baklava complimentary, for me to try. Great guy, made sure I was being taken care of and food was simply amazing. Small place though and very casual. Pros: great food and service, food came out extremely quickly and tasted fresh more

Amazing greek food, awesome service 10/28/2006

I stumbled upon this little cafe after a late night in Buckhead and it quickly became the best part of the night for me. This place is very small with very little seating room, but the food and service is outstanding. I went back the following night! And I wasn't the only one. The place draws repeat customers and develops customer loyalty. The falafels are exceptional. The hummus with pita bread is awesome. Finish off your meal with a mouth watering baklava and you've just made your night in Buckhead very memorable. I will keep going back and I'll take everyone I know with me. Pros: Amazing food, great service, great location more
