The Cape San Blas beaches are beautiful. They have the soft, white sand that doesn't burn your feet, blue water and, since there aren't any high rises, NO CROWDED on the beaches! Reminds me of Sarasota - Siesta in the early 70's! Safe, clean, quiet...Old Florida! Loved having our dogs with us. The rental was VERY clean and you would never know it was pet friendly. It was nice to be able to bring them on the beach with us! They were exhausted when they got home. Lots of great sunsets, a bonfire or 2 on the beach....NICE! We'll do this again and will stay at the Cape Escape rentals again too. Had everything! more

We just returned from enjoying a little piece of heaven. It was a true Cape Escape. The week just flew by. We were able to take both of our kids, our grandson and, last but not least, our little French Bulldog. It was a truly family fun time. Relaxing on our deck while are grandson played in a little pool (yes, a little glass of wine and a good book too), relaxing by the pool (yes, an ice cold beer and the same good book) and relaxing on the beach (maybe another cold beer, but the same good book). Sun was hot, water was clear and beer was ice cold!! No set schedules, no to do lists, no anxiety about leaving the dog at the kennel... I just can't wait to go back. You always wonder about dealing with someone long distance, but Wendy made me feel that we were old friends just handling some business. Everyone had a BLAST! Just plain old family fun....bonding and catching up with everyones life...and OMG the sunsets! It is like God just kissed the sky and it exploded!! more

We had a WONDERFUL tine at Cape San Blas and we will definitely be back again and again. The Turtle Crawl is super nice unit! You are a very thoughtful person for we could tell that you put a lot of thought into everything there. We tend to cook most of our meals whenever we go to the beach and there is always something missing here or there that I wish we had, but you had everything I could possibly need! I very much appreciated the variety of casserole dishes, bowls, a non-stick skillet (!), utensils and the dog bowls!!! O ur dog was in heaven here! We took her on every outing....it was fun to see that she enjoyed herself as much as we did. You were so right...we fell in love with the Cape. The natural environment is something iI have been looking for since childhood vacations to Florida in the 60's, before the major developments. We went on the Hammock Trail and it was overwhelmingly beautiful! We did light a bonfire on the beach, loved that, and visited the lighthouse and talked with Beverly. We all loved her! I got a copy of her book Apalachicola to read up for future visits. Thanks so much for everything. We had a wonderful time. more

Jane Cahill, March 2009 I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed Turtle Crawl (Barrier Dunes 191) & Barrier Dunes. You had almost everything anyone would need. I wasn't sure what to expect as I have never rented a vacation home over the internet or without a friends recommendation but we loved Barrier Dunes and the area. The grounds were lovely and the condo was immaculate and so nicely decorated. We loved the walks on the beach, watching the dolphins, collecting shells and so much more. We also went horseback riding on the beach and booked a boating/snorkeling trip with Seahorse Safaris. I have to thank you for all the information you provided on your website. We used all of it. This was a great trip and so easy to do with our dogs. We were able to take them most everywhere. Being able to take them on the beach made it so easy. I also have to comment on how clean and well maintained the grounds are. Wendy, thanks again for your assistance. more

We stayed at The Cape Escape 1 this past weekend everything was perfect! The townhouse was spotless, beds were made, plenty of extra towels, they even provide towels for your pets. Did I mention the units are pet friendly?!... Just cart him up and bring em, our dogs love the beach! Note, there are leash laws... The beaches were quiet and warm the gulf waters crystal clear...
