In ShortOpen since 1975, people go for amazing music with hopes of catching the next Nanci Griffith or Robert Earl Keen (frequent past guests) grace the stage. The bar serves everything from coffee to vodka tonics and ordering drinks barely disrupts the quiet atmosphere since the stage is on the opposite end of the cafe. Laid-back Cactus attendees are serious music fans and rarely raise their voices above whispers during performances.
