One of the first restaurants we tried after moving to Novato, Cacti impresses with it's decor and atmosphere, but the menu was nothing special. Burgers, sandwiches, ribs, a few pasta dishes--nothing that jumped out as being anything fancy or particularly high-end (I almost felt like we were at a chain restaurant). The way people dressed to come here, however, you'd expect much better fare. Maybe it's just me, but it seems a bit odd to dress to the nines on a weekend and get...a burger. We were surrounded by septuagenarians dripping with jewelry and sporting silk and fur like they were at a restaurant that cost 20x as much. Ironically, we were at a fairly upscale Argentinean steakhouse last night in Novato and we saw people wearing hooded sweatjackets and tattered jeans, yet the food was fantastic. Go figure.
Pros: Cheap food
Cons: Crowd thinks quite highly of itself
