My first experience with Carbaret Tehran was 20-25 years ago. I am American in love with everything Iranian/Persian. I remember great entertainment with Homeira, Satar, and a chubby comedian. The food was below average taste because I had a Turkish/Iranian mother in law who knew how to cook. So that is how I gauge food.. The prices more than what we , as a young couple could actually afford, and an argument with both waitress and mgmt. at the end of the night ruined what good feelings we had of the whole evening. I am not one to lie. If you can't afford a few hundred dollars for a meal and concert for a couple don't go there. I have be remarried now for 9 years. My younger-than-me husband recently went there alone, due to working temporarily in LA area. He said the staff was very respectful, and he said he paid a fair price-but realize my hubby can drop a dime and not consider it being expensive, where I count every dime and then some. The bottom line is, if you want nice entertainment, aren't going just for the food, can afford to spend, then you shouldn't mind. They do charge for imaginary drinks! That's why you either bring in your own alcohol or know what you drank. My hubby wants to take me back there. After my first time years ago, I could care less, but if he wants to have a good time, at least we can afford it nowadays.
