My Dad recently passed, my parents had purchased preneed services at dade memorial back in the 1940's or early 50's= well dade memorial has changed hands several times and i had to prove everything was paid for.
since my mom's death in 2002, and having to pay for the headstone and the opening and closing of the site,then proving it was paid for,and receiving a refund, plus having the fax from their research department proving all was paid. i assumed that once i produced that info when another need arose that would be it.
oh no-- since my dad passed july 20, i have provided another 4 copies of all my documentatiion- the fax i had fromt their own company was not good enough, and even then, they have contacted me twice to pay for the scroll to be placed on the gravestone.
i dont get it--
the folks there are very nice, and couldnt do enough for you, but this continuing proving that you have paid- is ridiculous.
now it has been 3 months since the burial, and still the scroll is not on the marker, i have made 3 phone calls to my person there, no reply,, i will almost bet you that i will have to prove that the scroll for the marker has been paid for again.
so if you preplanned with not only dignity, but with any funeral folks, make sure you keep everything- every document, every proof of monthly payments.. you will need it...make sure someone knows where it is or you will be paying again for something your loved one wanted to be taken care of.
