If you are in any kind of a hurry you may want to rethink visiting this location for your prescription needs. They are backed up even in the slowest times of day. This location is right by me so is conveniently located and I use it only because of that. If it is not too inconvenient I will drive the extra miles to the Pace location or go to another local pharmacy. The pharmacists themselves are great, they are happy to help with suggestions and consultations and are concerned with good customer service. Unfortunately there are only a few of them working with a lot of other associates who either are not so concerned with customer service, are not competent or both. I have never had so much difficulty with a pharmacy, not only on one occasion but too many to count. There have been numerous times when there has been a problem with my prescription and was not notified about it. Each time I drop off a prescription I make sure I write my cell phone number on it and make sure whoever takes it knows it is there. I have never once received a courtesy call to tell me that my medication is unavailable or there is a problem with my insurance company's system and my prescription coverage cannot be verified, or that my prescription simply won't be ready at the time I was promised. I have to find out these things the hard way, namely making the trip down there, waiting in the unbelievably long and SLOW line only to learn it is not there for me. After a few times of this happening I have started calling to make sure it is ready and there were no problems. I have been assured that yes, everything is fine only to go pick up my prescription and be told it is not ready because they have to order the drug. Did they get me a partial prescription containing the few pills they had left to tide me over until the next delivery? No, I had to request that and then wait some more. I was never called to tell me the drug had arrived as promised so I called to find out it had not been. Thank goodness I called instead of just going down to pick it up at the promised time. Another time one of the associates actually refused to call and have a prescription transferred from another pharmacy chain. She said they had to call her? Well the other pharmacy of course told me that was not how it worked so I called back to the CVS Milton location and told the associate I spoke to what they said. She said ok, well the pharmacist is out to lunch and he is the only one who can do that you will have to call back and talk to him. I did call back later and spoke to the pharmacist himself and he took care of me after I was on hold for 30 minutes (no kidding) waiting for him. more

Editorial
  • In Short
First opened in 1963 in Lowell, Mass., under the name Consumer Value Stores, this drugstore chain is among the largest in the country. Stores carry a variety of products, from baby supplies, home health equipment and vitamins to toys and greeting cards. Most locations offer Healthy Skin Care Centers, located near the pharmacy, which emphasize beauty as a health issue, and employ a skin care technician to educate customers about European and dermatologist-backed brands like Vichy.
