I'm a technophile. I love doing mostly everything online when it comes to paying bills, ordering refills, checking email, etc. And since this CVS was up the street from my last home, I figured it was a sinch to switch over all my prescription refills to there. Plus, with periodic "Transfer a prescription get $25 free", it was much more worthwhile.
Apparently, the Mentor neighborhood where I lived is from the Stone Age, and consequently, everytime I have ordered any refills online (which, by the way, are store specific, so if you order them from let's say, the Brooklyn Heights store and then want to get the refill in Mentor, it is a lengthy process; or with certain drugs, not possible at all), I get errors. Either the website tells me it is ready and the store has no record of it; the automated phone system tells me it is ready and the store has no record of it, OR the store does have record of the order but it is not ready.
In the most recent episode, I walked in after looking online and seeing "Order Complete, pick up at store". I was told that not only had they not received the order, but most people at that store do not use the Internet refill system and therefore, he cannot really assess how severe my complaint it. The staff is all wonderful, however, and when they do get refills, particularly if they need to get a Doctor authorization first, they are speedy and efficient.
My advice? If ordering from this particular store, call and talk with the pharmacist on the phone and get your refill verbally acknowledged. It may be a hassle, but it is worth the headache you will save in the long run.
