This is one of my favorite spots to visit in the city. That's right, a cemetery. There is so much history here. There is a book available for purchase at the Waiting Station inside the main entrance that gives a self-guided tour of the cemetery, detailing the stories behind many of the prominent families whose members are buried here, and the intricately carved stones that mark their resting places. Don't miss the architecture of the buildings, including the gorgeous Gothic Chapel, or neglect to drive to the top of the Crown and climb up to the grave of James Whitcomb Riley to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Indianapolis.
