CLOSED - Precision Tune Auto Care

Never again!!!\r I had to purchase a new vehicle after they ""fixed"" our smog issue. We got the California BAR grant to help with the cost of repairing or smog issue in our truck. This was the ONLY place in town that would honor the grant. Although being told by a friend that the place was less than honorable we were stuck. They quoted that they would have the truck back in 5 days... Nearly two weeks later they tell us the truck is fixed. As we were heading over Pacheco Pass the engine started spraying radiator fluid from the back of the intake manifold, which was the part that we were told had to be removed and cleaned to fix the smog issue. After being broke down with two children one 8, the other not even two, for four hours at night my father was able to come rescue us. Precision was more than happy to take and look back over the truck, they called stating that it had nothing to do with what they did but that they would fix it for nothing, yeah right, that is how a business makes money. \r \r When we got it back the second time, the truck now runs worse than it has ever ran. It stalls, there is now water in the oil, oh yeah and Precision didn't put at least 3 of the intake manifold bolts back in, most likely causing the manifold to warp. \r \r If you want to have to purchase a new vehicle because of the ""repairs"" a company does, then by all means take it to these guys. I am the third person whom has reported them to the Better Business Bureau do to repair services. \r \r Just don't take your vehicle here if you value your money, we basically paid these guys $300 of our cash, and the $500 grant from California, to destroy the engine of our truck. more

I recently moved to Gilroy from Mtn View and I had a lifetime brake warranty from the getting my brakes done at the Mtn View store. Even tho they are different owners, they honored my warranty from the other store even though I didn't have my receipt. Saved me $100. They told me they wanted to have my business for the long term and I appreciate that. That's why I recommend them to everyone I know! Pros: Honest and Fair more

I went to this shop for a smog check. My vehicle didn't pass. I dind't have the dough to pay for the diagnostic and repair so they gave me an application for the CAP program. I drove to San Jose and they faxed my application to Sacramento. I got the approval in 30 minutes! Went back to this shop the next day and I only paid $28.25 for the repair! The state paid for the rest!! Thanks Precision!? Pros: very helpful more

I told the manager Callan that I needed to get back on the road ASAP. They fixed my water pump within a couple of hours and they also found a nail in my tire. Saved me from another AAA tow. Until they gave me an application for the CAP program. I applied and was approved for $500 towards repairing my vehicle to pass smog. I only paid $30 out of pocket from there to fix my car I was pleasantly shocked! They also lent me a vehicle while my car was there so I didn't have to carpool. I've been going here for years since I moved to Gilroy. Every time I've gone they've taken care of all 3 of our family cars. My car failed smog and I they helped me apply for financial assistance. If you want to have your routine maintenance done and find out that your transmission died after the service, go to this shop. If you want to wait four months to get a diagnosis of exactly what went wrong with your car, go to this place. If you want the shop to drive your car over 1,000 miles without your consent, go to this shop. If you want a liar that told you that your car would be good for the next 10 years, and found out that your car died in a week, go to this shop. If you want to deal with a bunch of technicians who can hardly speak English or know about the repair, go to this shop. I think I've said enough. Just to share a frustrating experience of a customer that had to abandon an extremely well-maintained car after maintenance servicing with this shop. Although they are friendly, conveinant, and helpful; their skills are seriously lacking for auto diagnosis. Oil changes and maybe tuneups can be done OK, but if anything goes wrong and they want to start to replace parts and perform services - watch out. A good shop will figure out what is wrong and maybe replace a couple of things worst case, but these guys will do lot's of services and not fix the problem and send it home as completed. more
