My wife and I visited the Layton location for a relaxing evening prior to seeing a movie. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, salads and entrees. The problem was is that they brought all of our food out at the same time. By the time we got to our entrees they were cold. Also, the BBQ pork was dry and hard. To make things even more unpleasant, our server was pushy and made us feel as we were being rushed through our meal. more

Good atmosphere - great food if you love barbecue this is the place to try. 10/31/2006

If you love theme restaurants this is one place you will like to try. The food is served in nice sized portions and you can order family sized meals that serve 4+. The larger portions are brought out on a garbage can lid - set on a tripod in the center of the table. The ribs - chicken and brisket are delicious. more

best bbq around 6/14/2005

Famous Dave's is a great place to eat. You can find something for everyone. The food is excellent and the price is great!!!! When dinning out if we can't agree on a place we ALWAYS end up at Dave's. We first tasted food from Dave's at a University of Utah football pep-rally. The food was so good we have to go try the resaurant for ourselfs. We were immediately hooked. I would recommend Famous Dave's to anyone looking for some excellent food and a fun atmosphere and a great price!!! more

Famous Dave's is the Best 7/13/2004

Famous Dave's is one of my favorite restaurants ever. The barbeque is the best I have ever tasted. The service is wonderful, as is the atmosphere. the price is a little high, but very reasonable for great barbeque. I would recommend this place to anyone Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service Cons: , Pricey more

The atmosphere is great here - they have taken great pains to create a country BBQ atmosphere - great decor and I loved the ""garbage can lid"" idea to serve the combo in - other BBQ places are now copying this novel idea. Too bad they didn't spend more time on the food - but remember, it is a chain - so they do't have that much individual creative control over the food. The service was excellent - very attentive and friendly - soooooo, if you're in the neighborhood, and NOTHING ELSE IS OPEN - eat here. Pros: atmosphere, service, location more

It's always crowded, but that is a sure sign that it's GOOD FOOD! Excellent service, it's clean, fun, reasonably priced....great place to go with kids or to have a party! Cons: ALWAYS CROWDED! more
