DON'T SIGN UP UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE A MEMBER FOR LIFE! I have been trying to cancel my membership for weeks now, and I keep getting the run around from billing and the gym about some bogus late fees that were given to my account. I have called the gym EVERY day for a week now, and still no resolution. My account is about to auto-renew for another month and I cannot get cancelled! Of course if I pay the bogus late fees they will let me cancelled. But they aren't valid and it isn't fair. \r \r If for any reason you don't care, and want to be a member for life, the gym is just OK. Its a cheap monthly fee, and the gym has the basics but nothing fancy. The parking lot can be kinda hard during peak hours. The trainers are polite, but seem to rather be hanging out with their friends and not working. more

So far a great workout experience! 4/24/2012

I've been a member here for about a month now, and I can't really complain. I've been a member of many gyms in my life. First started with LA Fitness, then 24, Synergy, Evolve and now Crunch. As of right now, I still have a membership to 24 since I bought the 2 year membership from Costco, which is about $12 a month. The only reason I joined Crunch is because my trainer moved to this gym, and he is the best, so I had to follow him. Luckily the membership is only $10 a month, which is quite the steal with all the amenities the gym offers. First, it is super clean. The locker rooms are very clean, as well as the showers. The only negative is the automatic paper towel dispenser thinks I don't exist, since it only works for me every other time. Second, it is very big. It reminds me a lot of Agassi in Aliso, which I loved, but the membership was getting too expensive. The atmosphere is great, tons of energy, I always get really pumped when I work out here. The weight area is a decent size, perfect when it's not crowded, but around 6pm it can get a little cramped. But it is much bigger than most gyms I've been too. There are plenty of weight machines to choose from, and tons of cardio machines. The group room is huge, and they have tons of different classes to choose from, I haven't tried those yet, but am definitely going to once I'm done training for the oc marathon. There's even an area roped off for trainers so they can do more ground work. They have a boxing ring, as well as punching bags. The staff is very friendly, always using my first name when checking me in, which is a nice touch. My only problems are the location of the one water fountain, by the entrance, and they allow younger kids to workout without adult surpervision. All in all, this is a GREAT gym, especially for the price. And if you need a trainer, my trainer, JACOB BARRENA is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

wow best price in town! 12/14/2011

Fair 7/12/2011

Definitely not the bast gym I have been to, but it's good enough for what is needed in a gym. The staff is friendly, the classes are okay and it stays reasonably clean. However I do not like that it is constantly loaded with children. Many gyms have a childcare station for when you need to go to the gym, but are lacking a babysitter. That would be my only complaint. Kids don't know what they're doing with the machines nor do they know how to properly maintain them and keep them clean. more

Not A Happy Member 7/6/2011

So I was a member of Bally's before Crunch. I decided to give Crunch a try. This gym is horrible. The staff is rude and act like they are doing you a favor any time you ask them for something. The managers are hired and fired on a weekly basis. They opened the place while it was under construction and never completed the construction. They rarely have the basics needed. The equipment is always dirty as well as the building. My final straw was when I asked why there is always clogged toilets and the restroom smells like a truck stop I was told they have had to make cuts due to a slow economy. I guess that is why they can not afford to keep soap or toilet paper either. So I canceled my membership and they charged me. The manager told me she needed a written letter. So I go i and write I quit on a piece of paper and ask them to stop charging my credit card. Well these mental midgets just charged me again. If you want dirty old sweat all over the equipment and filthy bathrooms with clogged toilets this is place for you. If not I highly recommend staying away from Crunch Gym. more

El Toro Crunch Sucks! 6/13/2011

If there was a lower rating than one star I would give it. The owners, their family, and many staff act like everyone is beneath them. A totally crapy gym and even crummier customer service. The place is very cheap in more ways than one, if you know what I mean? Do yourself a favor and avoid this gym at all costs. more

Worst Gym EVER! Owner and Family Trash! 6/13/2011

Crunch Gym 23633 El Toro Rd, Lake Forest, CA is easily the worst gym I have ever been to in my life. The owner and his family members that run the place are rude and extremely dishonest. They change the rules anytime the feel like it and try to bully the customers when they remind them the rule was different a month earlier, then they deny everything like they never said it in the first place—very dishonest people. The Trainers have no respect for the regular people working out and don’t try to work around them. They simply tell you to move or block the entire area off for their client. Corporate gyms like 24 Hour Fitness works always around the regular customers and they respect them as customers. At Crunch Lake Forest the owner and his family run around like everybody needs to kiss their backsides instead of the other way around. The place of full of high school kids and louds other people that don’t understand gym etiquette. The General Manger, who I think is related to the owner, treats everyone with complete disrespect. Stay away from that gym. The owners post if a flat out lie. more
