The food is good but the place is dirty 6/12/2007

I tend to take out because every time I go in, whether busy or not, the place is fairly dirty. The last time I actually ate in there was trash and spilled food all over the floor, and the person who finally came out to clean the tables did not bother to go and get a broom to clean the major mess on the floor. Usually you have a hard time finding a clean table as well. more

Good food but maybe not worth the wait 3/26/2006

We love seafood and the quality is pretty good for "fast food." The portions are pretty generous and it all doesn't taste like it was deep fried in fish oil, like another fast food fish place usually does. The steamed fish is good because they put Old Bay on it. The biggest downfall is the drive thru takes forever! Like, 10-15 minutes. It's very frustrating to wait that long when there are only two cars ahead of you. Walk in is quicker, but not by much. If you have the time to wait, definitely give this place a try. more

A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D's Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D's was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.
