So good it doesn't belong here 5/10/2012

Once you buy and use this paint, you're hooked. I have used it in all but one of the rooms in my house. The two I didn't, one I repainted with Citron and the other I still don't like. So I definitely think it's worth paying the extra money for this product. The depth of colors and their milkshake consistency can't be beat. CJ is pretty genius at what she does. I've heard her talk and seen her giving advice and what she doesn't know about color, design, interiors and the make-up of paint really isn't worth knowing. There's sound knowledge and good service, as well, from the rest of the staff, and that's consistent. This is a place that almost doesn't belong in Tucson, it's that stylish and that ahead of the competition. By rights it should be based in NYC, San Fran, LA. Tucson is lucky to have it. more

Exquisite Paint 5/7/2012

I have used Citron Paint & Design and have found the quality of the products, attention to detail, and individualized service to be superb. I tried a color from Citron Paint in my bathroom and used Ms. Volk's suggestion to color the walls and ceiling the same rich color. My husband and I were both so pleased with the outcome. I ordered the paint from out of state and the paint arrived in 3 days. I would defintiely order again from Citron Paint and have referred all my friends to them. Definitely worth it! more

Beautiful paint! 5/7/2012

I've worked CJ Volk on my home, office and 2nd home and she's made such a difference. I love her paint and her ability to take my ideas to a much higher level of design and beauty. Her experience and taste are unmatched and the results are fun and beautiful. She's a lighting genius and has saved me so much time. She works fast and forces me to stay on task and follow my natural reaction to ideas she presents and quickly moves on when I'm not loving a particular option she's presented. She also stays within my budget. I would have made expensive mistakes on my own and ended up with less efficient floor plans in both my office and the 2nd home that we built without her help. I love the warmth and quiet, beautiful feel of my home I would never have achieved without her help. Once you work with her, you'll appreciate how efficient the decision making process is. If you trust her, and sometimes I've struggled with her direction in color or a fixture, you'll be so pleased you did. more

Buyer Beware 4/21/2012

In the beginning we hired this company to do a painting analysis and service for the inside of our home. The work was adequate so we asked if they did interior and landscape design; they said they did. We decided to hire them to choose and purchase ceiling lighting for each room in the house; to choose and implement window coverings for each room; and, to design and follow through with a landscape for a small backyard. This is where the problems started. First, Citron’s “statement of understanding” of how they do business was 100% in their favor. The initial retainer was $8,000. As soon as they received this money their “terms and conditions” for working started. But as stated, it was all in their favor. For example, if you needed to communicate with them and called or emailed, they charged you for the time spent answering your email or phone call; therefore, effectively cutting off communication unless you wanted to pay them to talk to you. They also promised an update email each week on their progress; however, we never got these. When we would finally call to find out what Citron was doing with our $8,000, we were billed for it. To make matters worse, we paid to find out the reason our job had not progressed was they had been busy with other projects. In today’s business world, it has always been our experience that communication with a client is a given courtesy, not something for which we are charged. There were other problems but the list is too long as the above is just an example. If you want to pay $8,000 to a company and get absolutely nothing for it, this is the company to go to. It took two and a half months to get any kind of “plan” from this company. When the “plan” was presented, they had forgotten (or ignored) a number of crucial points we included in our requests to them. What they did present was so far off of what was suitable for our home, we wondered between ourselves if they had given us someone else’s presentation. When it was clear to us that there had been no progress toward a useable design, either inside or outside, we stopped the project and demanded an accounting of what was spent. Amazingly, the bill came to almost the full $8,000. We actually had to call back and request some materials be sent to us that we had paid for and were greeted with a surly, angry staffer who was rude, insulting, less than cooperative and who told us “you have no reason to be angry.” Overall, we wasted $8,000 of our retirement funds, received absolutely nothing of value for those funds, and had the additional aggravation of being insulted by a project manager who clearly had not shown any real interest in our project from the beginning. So the “How did it go overall” answer is that it didn’t. By the way, the original paint job was also never completed. In our opinion this company earns a huge “Buyer Beware”!! more

Love the paint !! 3/24/2008

I just purchased paint from Citron Paint & Interiors. What I like about it is that it is thick and easy to apply. Also, it's full spectrum paint, so that means they don't use black or gray pigments like other paints. The color is richer, deeper and not dull. I would recommend trying it. The girl that helped me pick the colors was nice and easy to work with, and all of the colors are so pretty that it would be hard to go wrong. Pros: Beautifull shop, great service, excellent product Cons: tucson is the only location, but they ship more
