The store has a great selection but the exuberant prices will keep me away. I can get the same brands for much ceaper elsewhere. Looks like a cheap store, but don't be fooled. ...

The flagship store of the now-expanding C.O. Bigelow's chain is a monument to the universal language of beauty. Here, you will find brands from all over the world, which must be noted includes the full range of T. LeClerc face powders. If you're searching for that toothpaste from France or the antiseptic cream from England, you will most likely find it here, in addition to more well-known, high-end brands like Mustela and a good array of hair care lines. In addition, they have a mesmerizing display of delicate hair accessories and compacts for that finishing touch. Sometimes pricey, never boring - a long time institution in the Village. more

Fun Pharmacy 8/21/2005

This pharmacy is by far the most fun to shop in! They have a million different things to beautify and clean you and make you feel better! A lot of the stuff you read about in magazines but can’t find at Duane Reade, you can most likely find here. And if they don’t carry it, they can order it! They have common items as well as high-end bath, body and beauty items. I can spend an hour just looking about! more

It's all there 8/18/2005

To call Bigelow merely a pharmacy, much less a drugstore, would be, well, wrong. Besides, they call themselves apothecaries. Bigelow is THE comprehensive source for anything and everything having to do with the maintenance of one's hair, face, body and, probably, soul. A terrific source for homeopathic remedies, it's also a cool place to shop for lip gloss. They carry virtually every makeup brand you've ever heard of and plenty that you haven't. As if that wasn't enough, they've now created their own personal care collection. They deliver in the neighborhood for free but it's a treat to visit. And they have a website, natch. more

More than just a pharmacy - Great beauty, bath and hair goodies 8/17/2005

This legendary pharmacy, in the heart of Greenwich Village, has been providing health and beauty aids for over 100 years. Clientele includes celebrity neighbors like SJP (she's a regular). There's a very good selection of shampoos (a lot of cool foreign brands), moisturizers, makeup (including their own Alchemy brand), hair brushes (Mason Pearson) along with hair accessories and stockings. There is a very good selection of men's beauty products too. It's worth a visit to peruse the shelves to see what's new, hip and in stock. Also, great scented candles, many from Italy, to choose from. more
