Okay, obviously the hospital is not a five star hotel, but I gave it a five star rating anyway for several reasons.
I wanted a particular surgeon I knew was exceptionally good at the surgery I needed, so I had to go to Oxford and have my surgery at Granville Medical Center. I hadn't been to Granville's hospital before and knew nothing about their staff and procedures. I didn't hear anything negative, but I was concerned. I'm sending a report so those who wonder - as I did, can know about my experience.
It was small; definitely not like being at Duke or some other large hospital. I really wasn't sure what to expect. Then I found the procedures, that Granville Medical Center had in place for reviewing and verifying critical information, prior to surgery to be excellent . I was very pleased with the care I received and the knowledge of the staff. (they took NO chances with my care, making sure all was exactly as I needed it to be). I'm so glad I went there!! My surgeon, Dr. Winters, did a perfect job of putting me back together again, the staff was absolutely great and I didn't have a bad reaction (as I feared) to the medicine they decided on using. Everything went so well, and the staff even took care of my worried husband - keeping him informed. I received the best of care, and you can't get better than that. I highly recommend Granville Medical Center, their staff and Dr. Winters.
