I took my pet to Butler Creek, she received her shots, was put on an antibiotic for 10 days before having her teeth cleaned. The estimate included heart medication, the blood work, the anesthesia, etc. When I picked her up she was horrified and crying and clawed to get her arms around me. Upon checking out and paying the receptionist the bill was more than the quote. I paid, took my pet to the car, realized I had forgotten the Heart Guard, went back in to get it and the receptionist said that it wasn t included in the payment. I showed her the estimate and that was what I was suppose to have been paying for and she said that was just an estimated list and the Heart Guard would be an additional $55. REALLY! That should have been a red flag to me. When I scheduled my pet s follow up appointment at the Dr. request of no charge, the receptionist gave me a quote for the price. I told her that Dr. Banner herself said it would be no charge. She put me hold for what seemed liked forever and when she came back she started the conversation with OK, we can see you on Tuesday, May 8 at 8:30 a.m. I said that would be fine. On Tuesday I arrived for my appointment, the receptionist tells me Dr. Banner won t be in until 9:00 a.m. but they can weigh her etc. We went to the back and they weighed her. We waited for over an hour and Dr. Banner never showed up. My pet was anxious, panting (which isn t normal for her) shaking, trying to get out of the door. These were signs she had NEVER shown before. She began to cry, soaking her face. I got up and walked straight out to my car. After 15-20 minutes at home, Dr. Banner phoned to let me know they didn t have my appointment in their system and their receptionist couldn t find me. She asked if they had told me that. I said no. She asked for me to come back up because she really needed to check my pet. I went, the receptionist were cold and rude. About four to five days later, I noticed my pet began a hacking cough, and at times with a watery substance. I began researching what it could possibly be since she had never done this before and found through articles on the American Veterinary Association site and through various Veterinary and Vet Research video s she most likely had Kennel Cough. My dog is not around other animals, doesn t share a drinking bowl, etc. The only time she s been kenneled is when she was getting her teeth cleaned at Butler Creek. When I phoned to schedule with Dr. Banner. The receptionist put me on hold three times, was short and rude, and couldn t figure out which Dr. was going to be in the office. She scheduled me for one day and time, the rescheduled me, then told me Dr Banner would be in their office the next day. I was so frustrated I told her I would just take my pet somewhere else. I hung up. She phoned my back and said Dr. Banner would actually be at their other office not at the Acworth Due West office. I said, thanks but no thanks, if the front desk has this many problems it was a representation of the office as a whole and I prefer to take my pet to a more professional company. I WOULD NOT refer anyone to the Butler Creek Vet Clinic. If you choose to go anyway, pay VERY close attention to what is said, what is written, and make sure they correspond. You should take as much interest in what is done with your pet and you would your children.
