Where to begin, I met with the Burrows moving rep to run through my requirements for a short distance move. He explained what they would do to assure that nothing was damaged and selected a few items that they requested they not be responsible for; these items I was to move myself (art work and such). On move day they blanket wrapped some stuff, other items were just casually loaded into the truck. Upon arrival at the new location they advised me that some items ""did not travel so well"". They broke off a leg on a tubular chromed steel couch, absolutely shattered the Carrera marble top to a knoll coffee table, and three broken picture frames/glass. The head mover wrote this all up in the closing document and said that their insurance would take care of replacement/damages. Well I have been going back and forth with Fireman's Fund (equally terrible) now for the past 5 months and they insist that the total liability is $60!!!! Please save yourself a major disaster and go to a professional mover that respects their quality of service and customer satisfaction.
