Burlington Pediatric Association, P.C. began in July, 1976, as a single physician practice. Dr. Donald McCabe, a native from Mt. Pleasant, opened the practice after serving in the U.S. Army. The practice grew and Dr. McCabe recruited Dr. David Kemp in 1978 for one year. In 1979 Dr. James Hendrix and Dr. William Daws joined the practice and Burlington Pediatric Association, P.C. was incorporated.
As the practice continued to grow, so did our office space and we created two waiting rooms, one for regular visits and one for well child visits. Patients continued to stream in making it necessary to add another physician, Dr. Frances Jackson, in mid-1990. She also added another element as she was a female, which met the needs of more patients. In 1997, Linda McCabe, R.N., a long-term employee, became a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and a certified lactation consultant, expanding the opportunities for more diverse medical care. After almost 24 years in the Mercy Unit of Burlington Medical Center, Burlington Pediatric Association, P.C. moved to the Eastman Plaza of Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
With the new facility came more convenient parking and first floor accessibility for our patients as well as a new state-of-the-art hospital. We continue our mission to the community to give quality medical care to children which makes us feel that we are truly Hand in hand with our future.. Pediatrics
