What a Dump 11/30/2006

Both of the Burlington Coat Factory stores in the Richmond Va area are a mess. Although apparently some effort has been made to sort clothes by size, it isn't kept up properly. Stuff is everywhere. There is also a lot of damaged items that are still on the sales floor: Clothing with rips, runs, snags and stains seem to clog up the clearance racks. Only 2 registers were open on a Thursday night during the Christmas season and one of them was handling customer service as well as cash out. The manager at the front end didn't seem fazed that there were 8-10 people in each line and made no move to open up another register. I dont mind hunting for a bargain, but I don't have the patience for this place. more

More than just coats...unfortunately, also a poorly organized shoe section! 11/13/2006

Burlington Coat Factory may have great deals, but one would be hard pressed to root one out. The whole store is a jumbled mess, but the shoe section is by far the worst. The aisles are long and narrow, barely accommodating a single person making a trip down. The shoes are haphazardly piled up in stacks that tumble down if you dare dig out your size. I've seen Steve Madden and Nine West boxes buried amidst the generic brands, but I'm not willing to risk injury, even for a deal! more
