With the enormous growth experienced in Burleson, our City management needs to keep up. Complaints seem to be ignored (not just mine but others I've heard from as well). Once, a realtor friend called to report that there was a huge accumulation of trash in a creek running through one of our parks. Two weeks later when nothing had been done, he called back to be informed that they had received more than 65 complaints about that. One would think that they would get right on that! And now, they're asking for more money for more parks. I'm also concerned that, with the huge growth, we're going to have a problem with a lack of classrooms and public services. Is anyone thinking ahead? Speaking of growth, we certainly need a well informed City Planner. Someone is issuing way more building permits than they should. Our City services cannot keep up (water, utilities, schools, roads, etc.). Good city planning co-ordinates growth with services. Also, we're allowing many unscrupulous builders in who are approving people with poor credit and we've started to see foreclosures and losses in property values. We need to put a halt to the building permits for awhile. We've recently passed a bond for the schools and that's upsetting too, especially for those of us on a fixed income (retired) and we make up a large part of th e demographics. With all the influx into the community, you'd think there would be more than enough money in the coffers for this.
