My sister and I stopped in for lunch on a recent Monday afternoon, about 2pm. Business slow, so we expected good service. Not only were the menus sticky, and smelly, the server failed to mention any specials. We didnt know we werent told about them, until the other server was kindly explaining them to a table next to us. The drinks were served in a timely manner. We shared Nachos with Buffalo Chicken, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, jalapenos, and cheese and also an order of Cheeseburger Sliders. The nachos were at first a visually appealing , large dish, until it arrived. As we attempted to remove a single chip, another 12 were attached to it,stuck with overcooked, hard cheese. The buffalo chicken was a frozen, breaded patty, cut into pieces, thrown on top, and it was all cold. The sliders also looked appetizing. They had pickles, cheese and an onion ring on it, speared with a toothpick. The first bite was average, the meat was fresh, and cooked medium. The onion ring was bland. The slider bun was stale, and instantly crumbled upon eating. \r \r The 2nd order of drinks, beer, were not cold, but more than luke warm. The trip to the ladies room, was frightening. The bathroom was severely outdated, run down, and in total need of a makeover. I will not be rushing back here by any means. It is a shame, for it is an old, historic building, that could flourish with a little TLC, and servers and chefs who actually cared about their jobs. more

Horrible service, the managers and owners do not care about their customers only about the money which they can make, I would avoid this place at all costs! more

Tiki Heaven! 6/15/2008

Best place to dine, drink and meet in New London. A great outdoor TIKI BAR in the summer! 2/13/2008

New Londons best resturaunt just got better! \r In the summer of 07 a new 30 x 90 Ft. covered pavilion, with cascading levels, graced the Bulkeley houses traditional patio deck. Beautiful water views and sunshine! \r Those seeking less sun can appreciate the pavilion roof over 1/3 of the dining area, or the Palm grass umbrella's decorating the tables. Palm grass unbrella's? \r Yes! Tucked under this great Pavilion is a fabulous new TIKI Bar with a thatch roof, bamboo bar and all the decor to set it off. This Caribbean treat in downtown New London has become THE place to be seen and meet new and old friends.\r In the spring 2008 an additional Tiki bar will open to accomodate patrons. Adjacent to the existing bar, it offers a additional bar and fod service.\r The food is even better with the remodeled kitchen. My favorites are the Sashimi Tuna over Salad Greens and the best Chicken Parmesan in the county. Get here! Pros: Great food in an 18th Century tavern and a summer time party place on the Tiki Bar pavilion. Cons: Can be very crowded on summer nights due to the popularity. more
