Best

I first read about Bukhara on "Behind the Burner" and watched a video with Divya - great stuff! Love the food.

Worst

Heard positive things, but very disappointed. Compared to other Indian restaurants, the food was very heavy and less flavorful. The chicken entree was good, but the bread was serv...

REALLY COOL PLACE 10/18/2006

WHAT CAN I SAY THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST INDIAN FOOD IN TOWN. EVERYTHING FROM FOOD, SERVICE AND AMBIANCE ARE PERFECT. BEST IN THE CITY FOR INDIAN........HANDS DOWN. Pros: TWO THUMBS UP Cons: NOTHING more

Hands down to the King of Indian food 10/18/2006

Bukhara Grill- Best Indian food 2006.... theres a reason I agree with it 100% The food, atmosphere, service, Everything is just awsome My favorite dishes are Pickled Mushrooms ,Tandoori Shrimp ,Fish Tikka, Chicken Tikka, Balti Gosht and of course DAL BUKHARA.... nothing beats the dal over here simply mouth watering. All my Caterings are from bukhara grill Pros: FOOD, DECOR, SERVICE Cons: cant think of any more

You call this food? 10/11/2006

Ok with so many good reviews here i decided to dine at ukhara grill. These reviews however were not of any help. The food is rediculous, the service (even though the place was empty on a friday evening) was slow as hell. I wonder if bukhara grill is paying people to leave them theses reviews. We started our dinner with 2 appetizers. Subz Seekh Kabab Dahi Aloo Papri The Dahi Aloo Papri was sogy and tasted like it was made 5 days ago and put in a plate and served. 0 for presentation to the chef. Then we ordered Coke which the Server spilled on my girlfriend. Wow thats a 10er for service? For main corse we ordered Bukhara Daal (wich is rated here as soo good) was over cooked and felt like stones. I dont wana get into anything else. If you go to this place it is a waste of money and time. Definatelyy not recomended. Never gona go eat here even if it was complimentary. Pros: Are there any? Cons: Food, Service, Daal Bukhara more

Nice upscale Indian food 10/9/2006

This restaurant is quite expensive for Indian food, but not too expensive for a nice restaurant in midtown, and a nice restaurant it is. The decor is wonderful. The service is generally attentive though at times a little intrusive. The food (lamb) is quite good, though it did not present the mind-blowing experience that I expected after reading some reviews. Overall, I would go back, but not at the expense of passing up another nice Indian restaurant, which I haven't tried yet. Pros: Beautiful place more

The Best Fine Dining 9/22/2006

Bukhara Grill this is my favorite place to dine in all of N.Y.C. The place is just so beautiful with the wooden look. The quote said by -Bob Lape, WCBS News Radio 88 "Bukhara Grill and its staff cry out to be loved. There is much to like." The quote is 100% true, The Staff is vey very nice and are always doing the best job. The food is simply mouthwatering Dal Bukhara, Chicken Makhani, Fish tikka, Lambchops and everything else. The Owners were very nice as they both personally came at different times to greet us and take care of any needs. They also told me about their other places in Parsippany New Jersy and Yonkers.(gotta check them out sometime maybe soon) I have been going to Bukhara grill in the city for many many years and never had a problem. The food, Service, and entire Atmosphere is just Awsome -Ankush S Pros: DAL BUKHARA, Service Cons: Long waiting so make reservations more

BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT IN USA! 8/30/2006

bukhara grill is an awesome restaurant. it is my favorite and truely the best restaurant in New York. from the moment you enter till the moment you leave you are treated with luxury. The food is excellent. My entire family loves it. We have used BUkhara Grill for many caterings now and never have we seen such better service. The food is delicious. Taste just like a famous cuisine in India. The staff is very nice. They treat you like royalties. BUkhara is known for their DAL BUKHARA. There is no place where you will ever get better dal. BUkhara Grill owns 2 other wonderful restaurants. They have one in YONKERS and one in PARSIPANY. Yonkers is a nice friendly banquet place. I have never attended a party in YONKERS but i have seen a couple of videos and the crowd seemed they were enjoying everything. IN parsipany they have a BUkhara Express. In this restaurant a wide array of dishes are present. Along with North Indian, customers can enjoy south indian, indian chinese, jhatpat, chats, mithai, and much more. The staff here is excellent as well. If i can recall correctly it was Mr. Akshay Jhanjee, who reccomended me wonderful dishes. I ordered the dishes and they were mouthwatering. He is an excellent employee im glad bukhara has him. Overall BUkhara doesn't make any wrong decisions. THey hire the best employees and chefs, they make the best food and they give you the best service! Go to BUKHARA and enjoy a WONDERFUL Indian meal! P.S. - Make sure you eat Appetizers, Main Course and DESSERT! Pros: Great Food! Great Service! Great Employees! LARGE Dining room for big parties. Cons: its in the city.. parking is difficult. more

Outrageous prices for average quality!! 8/15/2006

I truely think its extremely overrated. The service is really sad, ambiance outdated, food that we ordered was very oily & ordinary & the pirces were OUTRAGEOUS! They are resting on the laurels of Original Bukhara's, which is in delhi, from where they have copied each & every thing, when actually they have no connection with the original one. I would never go or take my family or my naive american friends back, because they really think its the same bukhara from delhi, & trust me, Its not the same.. Not even close to it. Pros: Thumbs down Cons: stuffy & cramped more

So expensive, SO GOOD 7/22/2006

Yes it's more money than you'll ever spend on Indian food in your life, but it's better than all the Indian food that I've ever tried outside my mother's own kitchen. I live forty blocks from the restaurant and pay an extra twenty dollars every time I order, just for the delivery guy's cab. WORTH IT. Here is what I order when I'm feeding four people: Bread Basket (three types of bread), Kadai Cholley, any Paneer dish, Kurkuri Bhindi is GENIUS, Chicken Makhani, Critics rave about the Dal Bukhara (it's a little creamy for my taste), Plus a Garden Salad and some Raita, SKIP the Potli Samosa - the crust is good but the filling is too mushy, SKIP the Tandoori Shrimp appetizer - the shrimp is dry and rubbery. Pros: Clean, Fresh, Expertly prepared food Cons: Pricey more

Best Indian food in New York 7/22/2006

Fantastic food and I grew up with this stuff. The restaurant is nice, good decor, and good service. While you can get a decent meal in the Lex area too, this is a restaurant you can take family, friends, boss, and clients too. Pros: Great, authentic food Cons: Could upgrade the restaurant a bit more

does not live up to its name 7/12/2006

For being number 1, this place has alot of work to do in order to truly earn its "so called" reputation. Waiters tend to forget drinks completely, food portions are so tiny, two people have trouble sharing one entree. That is a problem since we paid about 20 bucks a dish, and had to order 5 dishes to get a decent taste. This place has good potential, but needs a significant amount of work before we can justify spending that much money on indian food you can get everywhere else. Pros: nice decor Cons: ridiculous prices for poor quality more

Steam is there but seems to be losing some focus 6/29/2006

Steam engine is still chugging but service seems to be coming down. Tandoori is always excellent. Maybe showing strains of getting stretched a little thin with the increased destinations, et all... Pros: Tandoori Cons: Service more

Overrated 6/25/2006

The food was boring and expensive. They charge $6.00 for rice. The makhani was OK --the korma was bland. The best thing I tasted were the lambchops. Not worth the prices. more

the best in NEW YORK and now its Jersey 6/17/2006

Bukhara Grill lives up to its name as the the Indian Spice rave. it now has three locations the first one in NYC, and now Yonkers and also New Jersey. i have had all three and all were very good. New York City- i have been going here for about 4 years and i just love it. The location , food and the service. The uniform on the waiters is just as nice as they are as they always are smiling and helping. My favorite dishes are mal mal kabab, haryali chicken, DaL Bukhara and everything. Awsome place and owners are very nice always working and making Bukhara a friendly enviroment. New Jersey- My Parents live in Jersey so i was there last week and drove by the new Bukhara. So i picked up my parents and sister and we went here for dinner. Its a different type of Bukhara. its more of an express sit in and take out. The colors were very nice and bright. We get to watch B4U as we were eating. This also has Indian Chines, South indian and north indian. So now evertime i got to Jersey i can have bukhara as well. Yonkers- I actully havent ate in the restarant. I went to a party in the hall. the hall was beautiful and the restaurant was being renovated to give the Bukhara look. the party was awsome and so was the food. i will deff have to go here for a proper sit down soon. Pros: food, service, multiple locations. Cons: wish i could have it everyday more

Among the best Indian restaurants in the city 3/28/2006

It's not the cheapest of places, but the food is fantastic. The food bursts with flavor and the spicy dishes are really hot the way they are supposed to be. They also get points for excelling at the small things, like the breads, the rice and samosas: these are among the best samosas I've ever head. more
