I'm a Buikema Hardware customer @ another location which I would highly recommend, as well as a Buikema Hardwre store in Naperville on Naperville Rd, where the service and customer service is awesom.
We endured a nightmare @ the Buikema Hardware store on E. Loop Rd in Wheaton.
We entered the store and the cashiers just gave us nasty looks, rather than a welcoming ""HELLO"". I asked a clerk where an item was located and grudgingly pointed in a direction. My wife asked a different clerk where she could find a product and he pointed in a direction, and she told him a particular product was available at another Buikema store and he said that was impossible because all Buikema stores carry the very same merchandise. But in fact we did find a product @ the Naperville store that was not available in the E. Loop Rd. store and wasn't about to be combative.
When checking out, the clerk SharonB looked at us like we had two heads when we approached her checkout.
I had a receipt from another store that didn't include a senior citizen discount and a note written on it by Janet, the manager of the Naperville store indicating we were due .65 refund because the purchase was made on a Tuesday. When I presented the receipt from the Naperville store, the clerk said anyone could have written the note, and of course made us feel like criminals, and told her to forget it, that it wasn't that big a deal if it was a problem. She asked a manager who again studied our receipt from the Naperville store and looked us over and told her to refund the .65 cents, again with an attitude.
I find it amazing how the E.Loop store in Wheaton could provide such poor quality service and bad attitudes, while the Naperville store is such a pleasant, beautifully maintained store and who's clerks and manager are above reproach.
