Great comedy, Great food, good people 3/21/2010

The unique atmosphere of this restored church make the experience even more special. After the show a visit to the lower level pub is a warm and friendly place for a respite from a long week. The family feel among the staff is expressed through their service to their customers. All in all it is was a wonderful evening. Pros: Close up comedy, good food Cons: You need to come early to beat the rush more

Finally a quaint bar great comedy in Buford 3/19/2010

I've been to the club at least 5 times and have never had a bad experience. The Owner is usually on site to greet the customers. Joe is always there to take care of everyone. Do yourself a favor and get over there now. Pros: Great atmosphere, awesome bartenders and great staff Cons: If you live in South Atlanta it is a bit of a haul more

Only place in Gwinnett for comedy! 3/18/2010

Discovering that Buford has a comedy club shocked me at first, and then upon attending the club I was blown away by the courtesy of the staff and the quality of the shows. It is so nice to have something fun and new to do in Gwinnett. I don't have to drive to Atlanta for good, live comedy anymore! I recommend to anyone looking for a good date night or group get together to try the Buford Variety Theater! more

Best Comedy Club in a Church 3/18/2010

I've been there on many of occasion to see the very funny comedian, Alice Jankowski. Can't wait till they have her back! It's one of the best comedy venues in GA. Need a laugh...and don't want to go to Atlanta? 3/18/2010

I LOVE this place! The food, the fun, and soooo the comedy! When you come in, you know you are home! Uncle Pearl's tavern first ( and also for a night cap), great food and drink at great prices...then the laughter....and I have never seen a bad show! There is not a bad seat in the house...and even if you don't know the person sitting next to you, you will by the end of the night. It is just one of those kinds of places where everyone just has so much fun, and everyone makes friends. We have plans to go back with our last table buddies in a few weeks! Amazing Venue 3/17/2010

Buford Variety Theater is one of the most fun places I've ever performed comedy at! Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, the acoustics are fantastic. The staff is amazing and management shows nothing but respect for their performers. Another unique feature is that they give young comics opportunities to perform in a professional club. You never know who the next great comedian will be!! After the shows I recommend heading down below to Uncle Pearle's Bar for drinks and socializing! Pros: Great feng shui, tasty food, strong drinks, friendly people Cons: There should be more of these clubs more

Amazing Venue 3/17/2010

My visit to the Buford Variety Theater was an unexpected pleasure. I did not expect such a beautiful place to be in Buford, Ga. The staff was extra sweet and worked extra hard to make sure my visit was complete. Even the man that took my reservation was kind and answered all of my questions. And the best part of all was the show. I have not laughed that hard in a very long time. I personally would recommend the Buford Variety Theater to everyone. Just make sure you don't talk during the show... us, the people next to you, would really appreciate it. Pros: beautiful place, friendly staff, great food, great comedy Cons: can't think of any more

You'll have a blast 3/17/2010

This place is fantastic. They book great acts and have a staff with a fun attitude. In no time at all, you are made to feel like you've been going to shows there forever. If you can't enjoy the atmosphere downstairs at the bar, you really should not be out among regular humans anyway. Pros: Great staff, fantastic environment more

BVT is a beautiful old restored church...it's worth the visit! Comedy Club has awesome talent..including surprise visits by Ron White! Uncle Pearle's Bar (downstairs) has great food and fun...Great place to meet up! Pros: Beautiful Building, friendly people, good food! Cons: haven't found one more

  • The Buford Variety Theater is fast becoming Buford's favorite place for great drinks, comedy, and atmosphere. Located in a beautifully restored former Presbyterian church built around 1920.The Buford Variety Theater brings live comedy and entertainment to North Gwinnett in historic downtown Buford. Friday and Saturday at 8:30 PM live professional comedy is featured in the main showroom upstairs. Wed is Open Mic Comedy with no cover. Thursdays is the Low Dough Comedy Show. Tuesday through Saturday Uncle Pearle's Tavern downstairs is open with full bar, light fare menu and a relaxing atmosphere. We look forward to serving you at the BVT!
