The Barney's Of Thrift Shop's 7/15/2011

I went to the Buffalo Exchange in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I found it to be a nice change of environment from my usual F21 addiction. However, very similar to Forever this place happens to be a little crazy looking in just about every location. You could potentially come out with some really good finds but you have to know your personal style in advance and more importantly you really, really, REALLY have to dig. This staff is okay, relatively friendly and certainly more helpful than the sales associates that you may run into at the more commercial retail outlets. This location in particular carried some nice apparel selections, but let's be serious. Paying ten, fifteen, and in some cases twenty dollars is a bit steep for secondhand threads. But I won't because how many stores is there really that sell gently used top designer bags, clothes, and shoes? There were a lot of Ralph Lauren items which I found to my liking. This place is certainly the Barney's of thrift stores. It was a more upscale than any other thrift store that I have ever seen. more

Good Selection, Bad Selling 1/23/2011

Buffalo Exchange was my first successful thrift experience. I hate when there is just a few good finds. Most of their pieces were something I'd buy, so I usually wind up trying on about 30 things each visit, and buying the majority of those. Just went there last night, and I was extremely disappointed in their selection this time around. more

Bull 12/23/2009

I took clothing to sell and or trade they wanted to donate my items instead, said they are looking for the latest styles, bull!! You will be better off taking your clothing to a charity to donate. That's just what I did, I took my items to the local charity. They are looking to scam you, they probably would have sent my clothing to another one of there stores to sell. This is no thrift store, they want to be a regular department store take your clothes off your back to sell. This store is a scam!!!!! Snooty workers! Cons: Good Location more

great store, cute stuff, good prices, the location can be hard to find if its your first time going there since its more into the inner streets but once you find it, its like a vintage junkie's paradise. more
