I grew up eating 2 hickory burgers and a chili cheese, chocolate shake, and peach pie. Life was grand then. Now, too few Bud's and life is much more complicated. I am telling you ...

Worst

The locals around here really like Bud's. All I can figure out is that is some kinda nostalgic thing. The hamburger meat is flat and tastes cheap. If you get a hot dog they cut in...

Best in My Life 6/10/2004

I grew up eating 2 hickory burgers and a chili cheese, chocolate shake, and peach pie. Life was grand then. Now, too few Bud's and life is much more complicated. I am telling you that this IS THE VERY BEST OF NEW ORLEANS. Decadence! I wish my waist line and heart could sustain the indulgences of my youth today. more

Great place for a burger and beer 7/6/2003

Everytime I visit New Orleans I make it a point to eat at Buds. Great burger, fries and a beer. It does take a little while to get your order but it is worth the wait, and the price is not bad. more

Bud's Broiler has the Best Burger 2/7/2003

The hamburgers & hotdogs are so full of flavor you hate to get to the last bite. Pros: inexpensive, not crowded, courteous service more

100% Local and just barley OK 2/7/2003

The locals around here really like Bud's. All I can figure out is that is some kinda nostalgic thing. The hamburger meat is flat and tastes cheap. If you get a hot dog they cut in half and put it on a hamburger bun. I would not recommend eating here unless it is 2AM and you are really desperate. more

good rings 1/2/2003

The burgers aren't bad, especially since you can get a beer with them. Try the onion rings. more

Special Sauce 11/16/2002

The Hickory smoke sauce is where its at. Get it on everything. The fries, burgers, dogs, chicken.... Not much else though, burgers are average quality as far as meat goes. Freshly grated cheddar helps. If i knew the secret recipe to the special sauce i'd probably never go. more

Hey Bud! 10/23/2002

The catagory is Best Burgers in New Orleans, and the answer is Bud's Broiler. Sure it's a chain, but it's a local one with a far, far better product than the stuff churned out at McDonalds, Wendy's and Burger King. Don't forget to finish off your meal with a fried peach pie! They're messy (lots of powdered sugar) but delicious. Pros: Inexpensive more

great burgers 9/27/2002

Great Burgers. This is a franchised Hamburger Chain with the best ""Chillie cheese burger"" Pros: Inexpensive, Quality goods Cons: few locations more

You're Kidding Right 8/30/2002

To include Bud's Broiler in the top 10 hamburger joints around New Orleans is a JOKE! No disrespect to the restaurant. . . .it is what it is . . . a slow way to get fast food that has only a somewhat distinctive taste (sometimes dryed out). There are at least 50 restaurants that have far superior burgers. Pros: Good Locations Cons: Slow Service, SOmetimes DRY FOOD more

A true burger palace 8/11/2002

This place has THE best hickory sauce. Flame broiled and juicy, this is truely the best burger joint in town. more

Great sauce 8/8/2002

The burgers are great and the bbq sauce that they put on them is so good. I would recommend this place to anyone. When I was growing up in River Ridge there was one right across the street and I practically lived there. more

GREAT 8/2/2002

FANTASTIC BURGERS BUT THE PRICE IS HIGH THE QUALITY US GOOD Pros: GOOD BURGERS Cons: HIGH PRICE more

Bellissimo 7/26/2002

No one can top them. I have tried a great deal of places. Bud's hamburgers beat them all, hands down. Pros: superb taste, good value, fast servvice more

Good food- simple 7/25/2002

You have to be a carnivore, but chili cheese burger and fries are a must whenever I am in the neighborhood. Plus I can afford to go there a lot more than the Commanders Palace. Pros: food Cons: functional decor more

This Bud's for You 5/19/2002

It's true; the hickory sauce elevates already-good burgers into an indulgent, artery-hardening pleasure of an experience. Not the best burgers in town, but then the competition's pretty fierce...Lee's Hamburgers' cooked-in onions, Port of Call's thick and juicy stalwarts, Clover Grill's hubcap-sealed, flavorful favorites. Buds' are a bit on the mass-produced side (this is a local fast-food chain, after all), but they're definitely a homey, savory and authentic alternative to the golden arches. more
