However, the reason I am writing this is to give all you folks a heads up on Budget rental scams. There were two in my experience. I reserved a 24 foot truck online several days in advance. So...
At the time of pickup, they tried to give me a 16 foot truck for the price of a 24 foot. When I pointed this out they complied politely, but I didn't appreciate the level of unprofessional business tactics. Also, I was told that I shouldn't be surprised if the fuel gauge wasn't on full because the gauge didn't reach to full on that particular truck. When I returned the truck I also filled it up as per the customer agreement and SHAZAM! the gauge went up to the FULL mark - its a miracle- *BE AWARE* This is where they make an additional $12 or more per rental. If you put in 3-4 gallons more than they had in the truck then that's money they are not spending per vehicle. (multiply this times the number of rentals they make per day and WHAM! do they make a killing) My recommendation is if you do rent from them... and I would recommend U-Haul instead... but if you do, then before you fill up the truck - divide your actual miles by 8 (the truck I rented got 8 miles per gallon) and only fill the truck up with those gallons. Why? because once to turn the truck back in they want you to leave and will NOT refund and cost you have incurred. PERIOD!
