Budget Truck Rental - Tampa

AWESOME! Dave and his team are just wonderful. Dave answered all of my questions about the truck and was very nice and funny. He put me at ease instantly. I rented some moving blankets and he even threw in a few extra for free. He recommended a good place to fill the truck with gas that was easy in-and-out right up the street and even gave me some tips on driving the truck. My bill was exactly as I expected. more

Right after I picked my truck up to store some items from my condo while I was having my floors redone, I was in an accident with a large truck right outside the office; I am very grateful no one was hurt and the damage to both vehicles was minimal; Dave and his wife Rhonda couldn't have been more gracious and helpful; they stayed totally calm throughout the incident; Dave even drove the truck to my condo not far away and picked it up again; I can't say enough good things about both; they are very professional, courteous and went out of their way to make a bad situation better; the contract was explained in full and Dave recommended the optional insurance which I'm glad I bought ! I was standing in line behind this person and personally I would have called the cops. This was my first time at Budget and my experience was fantastic. I think the difference between this lady's experience and mine, I filled the truck up with the gas I used. more

*** READ YOUR CONTRACT*** WHAT THIS MAN TELLS YOU, YOU WILL PAY , IS NOT WHAT YOU WILL PAY. * PLUS ADD ON'S, YOU PAY FOR THINGS YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE ON THE VEHICLE. I USED THEM 4 TIMES, I GUESS I AM JUST A SLOOOW LEARNER. THEY SEEM REAL NICE, HOWEVER EACH TIME I THOUGHT MY CHECK OUT AMOUNT WAS A LITTLE EXCESSIVE. THE LAST TIME I USED THEM I RENTED A MOVING TRUCK, WITH LIFT GATE. WE USED IT FOR 2 DAYS AND DID NOT MAKE THE DEADLINE. HE SAID HE HAD THE TRUCK RENTED OUT AND WE HAD TO HAVE THE KEYS BACK BY 9:00 AM FILLED UP. WE DROPPED THE TRUCK THE NIGHT BEFORE, FILLED UP (HE MAKES A POINT TO SHOW YOU WHERE HE WANTS THE FUEL UP TO), I FILLED UP TO THE TOP OF THE TANK, NOT UP TO THE NECK ALMOST SPILLING OUT. I THOUGHT THAT'S WHERE HE SHOWED ME HE WANTED IT. NEXT MORNING 9:00AM WITH THE KEYS I WENT IN TO CHECK OUT. HE WENT OUT TO THE TRUCK AND CHECKED THE FUEL , AND SAID IT WAS NOT FULL, IT WAS NOT SPILLING OUT, BUT I CALL IT FULL... SO HE TOLD ME I HAD TO FILL IT UP. HE SAID IT WAS ABOUT 4 TO 7 GALLONS DOWN AND HE WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ME A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT. MY HUSBAND AND I TOOK A DIESEL CAN AND FILLED IT UP TO ALMOST SPILLING OUT. MY HUSBAND PUT A GALLON AND 1/2 IN IT. HIS CALCULATIONS ARE A BIT OFF IF HE CAN CHARGE YOU. IN ALL THIS TIME NO ONE HAD SHOWN UP TO RENT THE TRUCK. WE COULD HAVE USED IT ANOTHER DAY--- HAD WE KNOWN HE WAS GOING TO CHARGE US ANOTHER DAY! WHEN I CHECKED OUT, HE HAD CHARGED US ANOTHER DAY SO I ASKED HIM WHY?. ""HE WENT FROM NICE GUY TO A HOLE IN 1 SECOND"" HE STARTED YELLING AT ME AND TELLING ME"" I DIDN'T HAVE IT BACK ON TIME AND I TRIED TO BRING IT BACK EMPTY!"" AND I ASKED WHY HE CHARGED ME FOR A DOLLY AND DIDN'T HAVE ONE, AND HE SAID "" IT WAS IN YOUR CONTRACT THAT YOU WOULD GET ONE, BUT YOU DECLINED IT"". SO I COULD HAVE ONE IF I WANTED, BUT I WAS GOING TO PAY FOR IT , IF I HAD ONE OR NOT. EXPLAIN THAT ONE. DIDN'T ASK FOR A DOLLY, BUT GOT ONE AND PAID FOR IT TOO AND DECLINED THE DOLLY. HE WILL FAST TALK YOU WHILE YOU ARE TRYING TO READ THE CONTRACT TO CONFUSE YOU SO , MY ADVICE ""R*E*A*D* THE FINE PRINT, GO TO THE SIDE AWAY FROM HIM OR HIS WIFE AND READ WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING, THE COMMERCIALS SAY ONE PRICE, WHEN YOU WALK OUT OF THERE IT'S ANOTHER. I BROUGHT A COUPON I PRINTED OUT AND HE WOULDN'T TAKE THE COUPON, HE SAID THE PACKAGE WAS A BETTER DEAL, WITH THE ELUSIVE DOLLY OR NOT. I WAS JUST ASKING WHY CHARGES WERE ON THERE THAT I DISAGREED WITH AND HE WENT ALL BIPOLAR ON ME. I KEPT SAYING ""DO YOU WANT REPEAT CUSTOMERS OR NOT?"" GUESS NOT. TALK ABOUT THE INTIMEDATION ATTACK! HEY I BELIEVE THERE IS A DIFFRENCE IN 7 GALLONS AND 1 1/2 GAL. HE WAS ACTING LIKE I WAS TRYING TO SCAM HIM, WHO'S THE SCAMMER HERE. *READ, READ, READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN, AND ALSO READ THE AREA'S HE ISN'T ASKING YOU TO SIGN, IT MAY BE IMPORTANT TO YOUR WALLET. more
