We've got a 1976 Ford Thunderbird and it's hard to find someone who can work on it. One day on the way home from work we took a shortcut and drove past Buddy's.
Joy! Joy! Al, an older gentleman, knew how to work on carburators on older cars. He attached the choke (imagine, our old mechanic rebuilt the motor and didn't reattach the choke), fixed the burnt tail light, inspected the car for the long trip it's going on this weekend. (My husband is driving it up North this weekend for our move). All for under $100.
Now he could have lied to us and told us it needed a new carburator. It acted like it did. But he didn't.
They fix tires, perform general maintenance, do oil changes. They've got a two bay station and a couple of good 'ol boys who work there. If they can't do it, they tell you who can - and they are good referrals.
I'd say check them out!
