Great place to run 2/6/2006

The path around Buddy Attick Lake is pleasant, heavily shaded, and at points borders what look to be attractive vacation homes with quirks and character. It's 1.25 miles around, so if you are distance running, the circle can get sort of tedious. But for runners, the biggest benefit is that shade in the summertime. There are water fountains and I've seen people taking advantage of the many picnic tables and barbecue setups along the lake. It's pleasant, seems safe enough, and doesn't seem to get too crowded. I know there must be restrooms around, but I haven't been able to find them yet. more

Who hasn't spent the day at Greenbelt Lake 8/21/2005

This is a place that I grew up on also. There is the lake, of course, but also a playground for the kids, picnic tables, and a nature trail that goes around the lake. On any given day, you will see someone with a fishing pole set up trying the reel one in. You will also find a lot of people walking and biking around the lake on the nature trail. It's pretty big...so be prepared to complete it once you start. There's no turning around! :) And of course the kids will love the playground. This is a nice little retreat away from the city, and you don't have to drive far. If you are tired of being surrounded by buildings, cars, people, and smog...head over here for a nice little respite one afternoon! more

Beautiful, fun, and clean 8/10/2005

Buddy Attick Lake Park is a wonderful park nestled in Old Greenbelt (easy to get to from Greenbelt Road and I-295). There's a gorgeous lake, full of ducks and geese. The lake is also great for fishing, which is permitted. There's a nice walking trail around the lake, and you'll usually see runners, people on bikes, couples, families, etc., making their way around. There is a picnic area with tables and grills, a playground with swings and a slide, a basketball court, and plenty of benches to enjoy the view. more
