We visited Bud Namu after reading about it on Fodor's. The manager, Danny, was incredibly friendly and helpful and even brought us a few samples of different dishes that we didn't even order! I had a stir-fry duck with a honey-ish barbeque sauce which was heavenly and my sister had a huge bowl of spicy seafood soup--equally good. The best part, however, was all the side dishes that were included with our entrees. We had about ten different plates of marinated mushrooms, potatoes, seaweed, beans, sprouts, fish, kimchee, etc.. I thought I'd died and gone to food heaven. Having never had Korean food before, I can't compare it to any other Korean restaurants BUT I will honestly say that it was one of the most interesting and delicious food experiences I've had in a long, long time. The prices were very reasonable, also. For 2 beers, an appetizer and two entrees, our bill was $40. If you have a larger party, you can eat in one of the private rooms similar to what they have in a Japanese steakhouse but instead of a flat cooking surface, there's a grill set into the table. Bud Namu is my new favorite restaurant!
Pros: Delicious, great variety of dishes, portion size, super-friendly service, reasonably priced
Cons: hard to find, certain dishes must be ordered ahead of time as they take a long time to cook. no bar
