I have rented 2 houses from this company. The first house was decent. We never had problems, never made calls to the office, until one day during the winter, our heat went out. It happened to be on a Saturday. I searched EVERYWHERE for the emergency number. It wasnt listed in any of the paperwork, I had to eventually drive to the office and get the number off a piece of paper on the door. I called Mr. Padgett and told him my heat was out. He had the nerve to say, ""Well, I wish you would have called on a weekday because I have to pay someone over-time to fix it."" like it was my fault the heat quit working.
The next house we moved into was an older house. It had amazing property and was perfect size. There were a few holes in the wall along the stairway, and he told us they would be fixed before we moved in. He also said he would re-paint because the paint was chipping off the walls. Neither were fixed when we moved in. After a month we had an ant problem, so he sent an exterminator out, and they found an ant colony under the house. They sprayed it. About 2 weeks later the ants were back, and they were even worse. I kept things picked up just to make sure it wasnt us, but they were still coming in the house through any crack they could. I walked around the outside of the house, and there were millions of them crawling on the foundation all the way around the house. I called Padgett and told him the ants were back, and he told me it was my problem and I had to pay to get rid of them. Even though he has already sent someone out once, and he KNEW there was a colony under the house...but it was MY problem?
Also a few other things... the 2nd house was not provided with a fire extinguisher, the fire alarms did not work. If I called and left a message for Mr. Pudgett I never got my phone calls returned. One of the secretaries was extremely rude. They made me feel like I was not important.
Pros: Smaller company so they know their customers.
Cons: Cheapskate. Never get my phone calls returned. Rude workers.
