Buckhorn Farm Equestrian Ctr

My daughter rode at Buckhorn Farms for 1 year. The training and care of the horses was excellent however, the management stinks. The owner/operator is very rude and unprofessional. She discusses personal matter in front of students, staff, and trainer. She is very hostile with parents who express their concerns to her. They also have a problem with student diversity, as a result, my daughter was ostracized and looked down upon by some of the students. more

The stable itself is excellent, offering both indoor and outdoor rings, as well as a large grass field with cross-country jumps and a dressage arena. Bordering the farm is a vast amount of beautiful trail riding land--there is also convenient access to the American Tobacco Trail. The owners are extremely polite, very friendly; aftering having been there for only a few months, I felt very much a part of the family. The instructors are highly qualified and very helpful, explaining to you why everything is done the way it is, and not just telling you that ""it is that way because it is"". The barn is kept extremely clean, and the horses are well taken care of. (There have been occasions when the owner noticed a problem with my horse before I did!) One must pay highly for such facilities, but they are well worth it! more

After trying several other riding stables for lessons, this middle aged woman is having a wonderful time learning to ride at Buckhorn. The teachers are very experienced. The horses are well trained. The facility has a covered arena (good when it is raining, too hot or too cold) and a outdoor ring. The barn is cleaner than my house! Safety is very important to me, and I feel very safe at Buckhorn. The setting is beautiful. All in all a very good experience for all the members of our ongoing class.
