Okay place for a haircut 10/13/2005

I stopped in because I was short on cash and in desperate need of a haircut. The shop isn't very impressive...looks like just the bare minimals for a hair salon. It's definitely not fancy or extravagant. However, the staff was nice, and I couldn't argue with the $10 haircut. I'm not sure I would go there for any complicated style, but for a quick trim on a simple hair style, I would recommend them. I also got in right away, which was a bonus. A word of caution - they do not dry and style your hair, so don't go if you mind having wet hair when you leave. more

For poor people (like me) the opportunity for a $10 haircut is something that sometimes just can't be passes up. I guess the way I look at it though I own enough hats that even if something goes wrong, I can cover it up until it grows out. I have friends who swear by it, and wouldn't go anywhere else - but then again, one of those friends has fire engine red hair, so what does she know? more

What did you expect 8/13/2005

I know, I know, you get what you pay for. However, I've had better $10 haircuts at Cost Cutters and Supercuts and at least there I didn't have to listen to blaring techno music the whole time. If you're only getting ends trimmed straight across, go for it. If you're expecting anything remotely more complicated than that, don't waste your time. Shear Extreme in Noho offers $15 haircuts which are way better for that price range. more
