Nice community feel with some movies you'd never see at the BIG movie theaters and some you would. Beautiful old building saved from demolition--this place has character. It's the type of place where you chat with the person sitting next to you while you wait for the film to start. more

Not your traditional Hollywood fare 9/11/2005

This small local theater has limited selection, though some patrons may enjoy the independent films that may not be shown at more main-stream theaters. They only show two moves at a time, and the building has been around awhile. The films you see here are aimed for an older crowd. more

Revamped Bryn Mawr theater 8/15/2005

The Bryn Mawr theater was an old, trashy, beat-up theater that used to show average rated movies and would show the occasional blockbuster movie. Nowadays, they revamped the entire style of the theater which now caters to small, independent films. I'm not sure of the sound quality or general ambiance of the theater (though it shouldn't have been hard to upgrade from what it used to be). But if you want a small, cozy theater to watch independent films, check out the Bryn Mawr film institute. more
