This nature center on the outskirts of Troy packs many activities into a relatively small space. This is a popular spot for school field trips, because it is a great place for children to explore, but adults can enjoy it just as much. They rehabilitate injured animals, and many of the animals can be viewed by the public. There is also a room with large windows to observe birds in the wild, and they have museum-type displays that tell about local animals. There are numerous trails to choose from that take you by a lake or through the woods. My favorite spot on the property is the old log cabin with pioneer-era items inside. They have recently built an addition that is a very nice meeting room. They offer many seminars and activities throughout the year, so you might want to check their online calendar before you go.
