My experience with Bruening Glass Works has been a negative one overall.
I am an Army wife, and my husband is currently deployed again to Afghanistan. I was looking to find a credible crystal repair craftsman for some beautiful highly detailed crystal chalices from Italy that had been broken. My mother gave them to me to find a repairman. I chose Bruening due to their endorsement by Waterford & Swarovski, as well as their many examples on their website of repaired crystal.
At the time, my husband was getting ready to deploy, we discovered that I am an epileptic, and that we were expecting our first baby. After contacting via email & viewing pics of the pieces, Marc assured me he could fix them, told me about his son being a sniper, and quoted me $50.00. This was In Oct of 2011.
Upon receipt, however, he called me and told me he would have to charge $325.00. During the phone call, he assured me he could fix them, I reluctantly agreed as I badly wanted them repaired. He told me that I could pay him around Jan 1st of 2012. He told me that was when my chalices would be repaired, and ready for shipment back to me.
I lost my baby through miscarriage, and during this difficult time (Jan 2012) ended up contacting Marc to pay for the chalices. His phone mannerism was odd to me as I told him I was calling to make payment on the crystal chalices so they might be shipped out to me. He was distant and said they were 6-10 wks behind schedule, and just sort of blew me off.
It is now the end of February 2012, and I have called multiple times, and left voice messages no return calls. I have no choice but to believe that Bruening Glass Works & Marc have chosen to keep my property, fix it for their own enjoyment, and I will never see my family heirloom again.
If this review of my experience with this company may spare anyone the pain of losing a precious family heirloom, do not trust this company, and do not send your property to this establishment.
