Simple job...I pay Jim Browning to do my taxes. 1040A form, only thing out of the ordinary is that I had First Time Homebuyer Credit. Filing that way, the form has to be mailed, so sure, it will take longer to get your return. I have filed my own taxes every year since 1977, but I wanted this one to be right. I pay him $75.
Six weeks later I get a letter from the IRS. I need to submit a 5405 First Time Homebuyer Credit form. I call the IRS to find out what was wrong with the original, it had not been submitted. So I copy one from the IRS site, fill it out myself, and send it in.
Six weeks later, my return was electronically transmitted from the IRS. A week later and the bank still doesn't have it. I knew what was wrong without looking, I look at the 1040A copy I got back from Browning, the account number was wrong. I check it against the previous year's return, which I had given him to get the acct and routing numbers from. They were correct, he just screwed it up.
Jim Browning is a CPA...a professional. I'm sure that he has been in business for 30 years. DO NOT USE HIM FOR ANYTHING!!!!! If he screws up a simple tax form just because he didn't double-check, he will screw up your business.
Pros: None that I know of
Cons: Inept!
