The ice-cream is horribly overpriced and nothing special. The service is fine when mom and dad are around, but when they're not...forget about it. The kids don't care about service, after all, they're doing you a favor, right? The bathroom was clean, but the tables and floor were not. I'm annoyed by this place. The best value in ice cream in the area is Oberweis. Go there instead. more

Fake Ice Cream Parlor 9/15/2005

The Brown Cow lured me in with its old-fashioned ice cream parlor decor and signs. However, I was sort of disappointed with my dining experience there. First, its ice cream are not home-made (I saw labels of Haagan Dazs and other brands on the ice cream bins) although it gives you the impression that its ice cream is "special." Second, its chairs and tables are very dirty. There is no staff wiping anything down while I was there and the tables were sticky (I tried a couple). Third, its "specialty" cones are not so yummy at all. I ordered the chocolate chip cone and the cone was powdery and bland. I would not recommend this ice cream shop given all the other lovely shops nearby in OP. more
