My student was very friendly, nice, caring, and will make a great stylist. She asked to make certain that I was getting what I wanted, but there was one problem, due to the school setting. I asked several times for her to shorten the top layers of my long shag. She wanted to please me, but she wanted to please her instructor more so as to get a better grade. The instructor told her not to shorten those layers - even though I showed them both a picture of my hair that way, when it was last styled at Tomorrows salon. It looked great, and I assured them that this was what I wanted, and why I had come in. I believe you have to change the focus from the instructor being satisfied with the cut to the client being satisfied with it. So, I have a nice cut, but it is not completely what I wanted.
