BEST BREAKFAST EVER!!!!!! 4/27/2008

This place will take your breakfast to a whole new level! It is hearty and healthy (organic). All of that sounds great BUT the food is not boring or bland by any means! The coffee is fabulous. I buy it for work. It is an organic rainforest blend! Pros: Great food, healthy, coffee rocks! Cons: the wait and it is small more

Yummy breakfast 3/1/2008

Great omelettes and tofu scrambles here. Really good coffee - just the right strength. Wait can be horrendous on weekends, so get there early. Also, many tables are packed into a fairly small space, so it's not a good place if you're at all claustrophobic. No pancakes here, which surprised me to find at a breakfast place. The biscuits are yummy and very unlike a traditional biscuit. They're more whole wheaty and freeform than the tall white circle often found in the South. Both types are good, but these are more interesting. You get one with an egg order, and I always wish I had an extra biscuit, but I feel piggy ordering one. The serving sizes of everything (except biscuits) are pretty generous. Pros: Good food, fair prices, vegetarian friendly Cons: Small space, no panckaes, long waits unless you get there early (because of the small space) more

Great Food 12/28/2007

One of the best breakfast joints in town. The food and service always seems to be top notch. I keep going back for more. more

A great breakfast for any reason 1/7/2007

I was looking for something beyond the usual 'hash-n-dash' breakfast, something that would still be on my mind several hours later. This is the one! It is a refreshing way to start the morning, with a good cup of coffee and the cheerful service of a friendly staff. The menu offers a great selection of healthy choices, and everything is prepared fresh. I have been back more than once, and have not been disappointed. They also have 'spreadable fruit' (fruit preserves) for sale, and these are wonderful as well. Ask for a sample to put on your biscuit, and you will find yourself leaving with one or two jars to share with your friends. more

brotha junipa's look is off da hook 1/23/2005

Come hungry! 12/25/2003

I found this place about a dozen years ago not long after I first moved to Memphis and spent many a happy Saturday morning there feasting on cinnamon rolls, biscuits, omelets, and fine Southern hospitality. I moved away a few years back, but when I get to Memphis for a weekend, I make sure to make it there on Saturday. Someday I may end up moving back there, and Brother Juniper's will be one of the reasons! Pros: Great food, Inexpensive, Charm more

A Wonderful Experience 9/27/2003

I found Brother Juniper's on this website last year and visited while in Memphis in July 2002 on a family reunion. I convinced some family members to go and they went back and told everyone else. The hosts and staff were friendly, the food was absolutely delicious. We were stuffed by the time we left. My only warning is to get there early. We did and still had to wait a little. However, by the time we left, the line was long. This restaurant is in a converted house. It has a front porch, flowers in the yard, and a very comfy feel. Well worth the wait. Pros: food, good parking, inexpensive Cons: the wait can be long more

Worth it! 11/14/2002

Fabulous food, friendly service, and a great place to take out-of-town friends. They are known for their large collection of coffee mugs, and each order of coffee comes in a unique cup. more

A homemade breakfast 9/4/2002

I took some out of town relatives into Brother Juniper's for breakfast the other morning and let me say it was very good!! I love fresh, hot coffee and when they bring out your breakfast, it is still steaming. Really enjoyed it. The service was friendly and efficient. Pros: fresh coffee, hot eggs, great service more

tha bomb 9/4/2002

They finally take credit cards! This is a plus in my book! Pros: the food! Cons: poor parking more

Diverse! Delicious! 8/28/2002

Funky & fabulous, both the food, the variety, and the atmosphere. How can you go wrong with a place that offers everything from vegetarian selections with soy milk, to traditional country cooking? The bread is hearty, the biscuits are gargantuan, and the service is the friendliest in town. more

a favorite! 8/13/2002

great food and great people! best breakfast and best way to start your day! more

Happy Tummy! 8/7/2002

You definitely get more bang for your buck at Brother Junipers!! It is a small, family owned and operated restaurant and that shows from the way the omelets and biscuits are made, down to the coffee choice of the day. You'll never go anywhere else after this---there's sort of a hippie vibe to the place, so grab a table or a bar stool and enjoy the experience! Pros: always delicious Cons: crowded more
