Broadway Auto Clinic

I was told about Broadway Auto Clinic by a friend of mine at work that raved about them. So, I checked out their reviews before I went, and they were mainly very positive. I had some issues with my air conditioner, and the dealer had told me I needed to replace every component, because the compressor had locked up and debris had contaminated the entire system . It was going to cost over 2500 dollars to get it working, so I figured I just wouldn't have air conditioning this year because money was very tight.. So, I brought it to Broadway, and had them check it out. I spoke to Rick, and he brought me out to the shop, and explained exactly what had happened. The dealer was correct in saying the compressor had gone bad, but Rick said that he could flush out the system to get most of the debris out, and install a filter that would catch any residual pieces that the flush missed. So all that he had to replace was the compressor, a dryer, and something called an orifice tube, and install this filter, which Rick said, that I had to come back in a few weeks for them to clean out. Understand, I was under the impression that I would need to spend 2500 dollars, and Broadway knew that, but they still didn't try to take advantage of my situation. Rick , and his wife Sandra are the owners, and they oversee everything that goes on. They drove me to work that day, picked me up after work, and even though the car wasn't completely done when I got there later in that day, that was ok, because I spent a half an hour in the waiting area, that's actually nicer than my own living room, and watched a concert in surround sound on their big flat screen. After the repair, they put my car through the car wash, and I was off.. Two weeks later, my AC is blowing ice cold, and the whole thing cost me 800 dollars+ tax. They have a new customer now... I decided to write this review to get the word out that finally you can have a reliable and honest car service in Albany area. My experience with Broadway Auto Clinic started from small accident and towing of my car to the nearest service shop. I?ve never heard about this place since it?s not on my way to work or any one mentioned it before. And I was in for a surprise, and this was a good one. As soon as my car arrived I was treated with honesty and respect. Work that was done on my car can only be described as excellent. I had to use few local body shops previously and this was the best job I?ve seen so far. And time that I spent in their waiting room was not stressful at all, thanks to the comfort of the office and pleasant people that you would deal with if decide to come. And I would strongly recommend to all my friends and family: If you ever need your car to be serviced, don?t even think twice, try Broadway Auto. I definitely will be back if I ever need anything else. Thank you Broadway Auto! more

After spending a good 3 years trying out and writing off at least 15 different mechanics I finally have found one: Broadway Auto Clinic. These guys did an excellent job of explaining every facet of my car and problem, explaining what was urgent and what was extra, and even gave the time to think over my choices. In the end I was extremely satisfied. This is a real American business: they treat you with respect and help you in any way they can. I was on my way to take my son to day care in Cohoes when my car started jerking and poping and just quit running on the hiway. The tow truck came , and I told him I didnt know who to go to, so I asked the tow truck driver where I should go. He said that Broadway Auto Clinic was a really good place to go, and that are great mechanics and wont rip me off. I live in Scotia, so I never heard of them. But I had it towed there anyway. I have to be honest. I am a single mother and I know nothing about cars . The owner could have told me anything, and I would have believed it. I have nobody to call for advice. I always get ripped off when my car breaks. So I was very scared and though I was going to get really bad news after they looked at it. They drove me to my childs day care, and me to work and called a few hours later. They said that the fuel gage was not reading right, and my car was just out of gas! They put gas in it and it started right up. They gave me a price to fix the gauge, and told me not to let it go below 1/4 tank for now, and I'd be ok until I had the money to fix it. So they came and picked me up from work, and the only thing they charged me for was 20 bucks for the gas they put in it!! I couldnt believe how lucky I was to have found a honest place to go to after my bad luck in the past. The owners names are Rick and Sandra, and they are really nice people. Its a beautiful place too. They even have a big plasma tv in the waiting area ! I will definately go back there when I need something done Pros: Shuttle, car wash, auto repair HONEST!! My family has used Broadway Auto for years and has always found the owners and staff to be friendly and courteous. Any service performed on our vehicles has been problem free and the owners have always been patient in explaining what needs to be done and why. I dropped my vehichle off this morning and despite calling back because I changed my mind about something, I was still met with friendly service. I have had such a difficult time trying to find a good mechanic. Colleagues referred me to Broadway Auto Clinic and I had hoped that finally I found a company that was fair and trustworthy. I recently had some repairs done to my car for which Broadway Auto Clinic confirmed had fixed the issue. Furthermore, they had called and requested additional time (= additional $$) to further investigate the problem and communicated with confidence that the wheel bearing replacement to the tune of $300.00 had addressed the issue. The minute I drove it off the lot, the problem started right back up. When I brought the car back in they made a number of excuses, such as ""well we only test drove it a couple of minutes"" and ""we can't know everything about cars."" Then to add insult to injury, they said they didn't know what else to do and I would have to take it to the dealership to have it fixed. No refund, no apology, just an I can't fix it after they had charged me $300.00 to fix it. I am trying to dispute the charge through my credit card company but Broad Auto is providing false information. The way in which this was handled was extremely unprofessional, unethical and cowardly. I hope this review prevents an unsuspecting buyer from experiencing the same. I wish I had read the reviews here before going to Broadway. I never would have gone. I would have traded in my car like I was thinking about doing and saved myself $800.00. I ended up having to get rid of the car anyway. more

I took my car to Broadway Auto for 4 new tires. I was told I would be in and out in about an hour. Well it took them twice as long. Upon driving home my car started to shake going 65mph on 87. I pulled off and stopped to take a look. The wheel was tilted so I called a tow truck. I had it towed to a nearby shop. They found 3 wheel nuts had fallen off and the other 2 where very loose. They said,? whoever put the wheel on forgot to tighten the nuts?. I had to replace all the studs and nuts. They also said, ""your lucky that the wheel didn't fall off"". I arranged to have some work done on my car, including some new tires. When I picked it up I found that the work had not been done, they'd installed the wrong size tires, and in the process had broken one of my hub caps. They told me that the hub cap must have been broken during previous service elsewhere (despite the broken plastic was clearly ""fresh"", with no dirt on the broken edges).
