Great, Great, Great! 5/17/2010

I felt very compelled to write this comment since I almost did not try this Brigs out (due to the person who has repeatedly written negative comments). Honestly, if you are looking for a great meal and want to a large menu to choose from Brigs is a fantastic choice!! My brother just took me out to brunch for my birthday, we had a great time and we were both very happy with our meal and the service (I must say as a self proclaimed foodie I am not the easiest to please). Pros: extensive menu, comfortable atmosphere, pleasant staff, prom Cons: none that I can think of. more

Great food and service 12/12/2009

The huge menu, the fact you can get breakfast all day, and the great tasting food and portions. Lots of choices for side dishes also. Pros: Many choices of omelets, all very good; great BLTC too. Cons: Can be very busy on Sat. and Sun. for breakfast and brunch more

Nice experience 5/18/2009

Homey feel and a varied menu. Not your typical breakfast. The service was great and the coffee was amazing Pros: Choices on menu Cons: bland at times more

Favorite Restarant in Raleigh 2/12/2009

We have been going to Brig's for years, and have enjoyed it every time. The portions are huge, but I somehow always manage to clean my plate. The waitstaff is very friendly and personal, and the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. We will definitely be dining here for years to come. Pros: Friendly service, delicious menu Cons: Sometimes a long wait on weekends, but well worth it more

Great breakfast, friendly waitress and manager and great service 2/11/2009

We weren't sure what to expect when we went here, but we were so pleasantly surprised. Having moved from New England where great breakfast places abounded, we were disappointed that there didn't seem to be any good breakfast places here. The kids' portions are huge, especially for the cheap price! Their blueberry pancakes were fantastic and I don't even like pancakes! My husband had French toast, i had corned beef hash with sunny side up eggs. This is the only good breakfast place we've found in a year of searching so far!! They were out of coloring books since they'd had so many kids in, but the manager apologized profusely about it in person. He turned up the heat when I was chilly. He asked several times how we were doing. The waitress was young, friendly, attractive and provided great service as well. We were very pleased and will definitely go back, even though it's pretty far from our house! Pros: Friendly service, personal attention more

One woman + many screen names = a lot of lies 2/3/2009

SInce last October, one woman has written 15 different one star reviews criticizing the staff at Brigs Great Beginnings. She has used 15 different names, like ""satdownachair"" and ""sapatree"", but she's just one woman. Her subject titles are all similar, her grammar and syntax are all the same, and up until now, each screen name she's used only posted one review EVER and it was about the staff at Brigs.\r \r We know who she is. Yes, we know who she is. What we don't know is why she would intentionally hurt people by writing lies about them. She eats with us frequently and likes some of the staff a lot. Then, behind a veil of internet anonymity, she publishes ""reviews"" telling readers the names, hair style, home states and more about our staff, and tells horrible lies about how rude and mean they were to her. We know who she is and we have never been rude or mean to her.\r \r These employees work hard to make every customer happy. Yes, they are just as human as every person who reads this post. They do make mistakes. They do have bad days. And, they have deserved some of the bad reviews that they have received among they many good ones they've gotten. They do not deserve to be insulted and humiliated by lies. They have families, friends, and loved ones who also are emarrassed that internet readers like yourself have seen these lies.\r \r Until CitySearch verifies email addresses before allowing posting, every review, good or bad, must be taken with a grain of salt. We have been nice enough not to put this woman's real name in this post. We hope that she will return the favor and stop posting mean and undeserved reviews about the nice people who we are proud to have as employees.\r \r Pros: Friendly staff, huge menu, quality ingredients, value priced. Cons: Long lines on weekends. more

WONDERFUL 6/3/2008

I have been going to Brigs for as long as I can remember and absolutely LOVE it. The staff is amazing and always come over to say hey. The manager Amanda is very sweet and welcoming. I don't know how the people posting before me found someone rude, I have NEVER seen any rude working there. The food is GREAT. I have never ordered something and been unsatisfied with it, I would recommend the whole menu. My family and I thoroughly enjoy ever visit that we have at Brigs!!! Pros: EVERYTHING! more

better off at dennys 2/20/2007

i have given brigs a number of chances, but i just don't get how people can say this a great place. the atmosphere is like a funeral parlor and it could REALLLLLY use a good cleaning. the food is average at best. the wait staff is rude and the manager is even ruder. if you're looking to grab a quick bite on the way to the office or to have breakfast after church, you'll be better off at dennys. Cons: cleanliness, rude staff more

A different kind of breakfast altogether They baste their eggs (4 Bubbles) 7/27/2006

I don't get it. Just to make sure, I ate there on 3 different ocassions. I waited a long time to be seated (true the place is small, so it is understandable) and then I ordered coffee and orange juice, then my breakfast, which was the Brigs famous eggs benedict. It was not the eggs benedict that I was used to. It came on a big plate with a mound of shaved smoked ham (whoa), the eggs were poached to a hard boiled consistency and the grits tasted like dirty socks. What did they put in those? How can you mess up grits, I ask? I told the server that I wished for my eggs be lightly poached with a soft yoke and he said that they didn't cook eggs that way there. They basted their eggs. What?! I let it go. Second time visit, I had eggs over easy and they were right. Third visit, I had the breakfast skillet with the poached eggs. Same problem as before and both the server and the manager said that I could not have them the way I wanted them. They basted their eggs. So, I was well done! The Social Light Pros: Good Coffee, fruit plate and a cold pitcher of lemon water Cons: Poor customer service. Remember, the customer is alway right! more

yum 8/17/2002

I loved this place. I went there on a date and the service was excellent, and the food was even better. We got seated right away, and everything was clean. I can't wait for my next visit. more
