Bright Start Learning Ctr Llc

Our son has been at Bright Start for about a half a year and it is abundantly clear that the teachers love him and he loves them. Developmentally, he has grown by leaps and bounds. We are impressed by their "learning through play" model, and love the light-filled classrooms. We are very pleased, overall, even though there has been a change in directors and an increase in fees. more

I only brought my child for less than a week. That is how bad it is. more

I live next to the daycare and every day I see the children playing in the dirt by the ball field. I never see them go to the playground that was built for them. The area they play in has dog feces around is pretty dirty. Is there a reason the teachers can't walk to the playground, or they just too lazy. I also see several children each day screaming in tears and then being ignored or scolded for crying. Not much nurturing going on. more

I looked at 10 schools/daycare centers in Alexandria and came across the same thing in almost all of them. They were dirty, messy, disorganized and the caregivers were not qualified or they weren't kind to the children, even at first glance. It also appeared that there wasn't a structured program for the children either. When I looked at BrightStart I knew as soon as I walked in the door that it was the best place to send my almost 2 year old daughter. The daily menu (breakfast lunch and 2 snacks AM and PM) is catered in, and the facility is clean and bright. There are big windows and it doesnt even SMELL like a daycare. The children are given a program theme to learn about each week, and they do projects and songs that go with each theme...they even had a beach party last week! You get a daily report about how your child slept, ate and felt and what they did that day activity wise- even what your child liked the most about the day. There is a free webcam service that you are able to watch your child on during the day at work, you can log in any time to watch. I would highly recommend this center to anyone who has high expectations for daycare, and high standards. The staff is CPR certified and all of them have early childhood education experience. Make sure you get on a waiting list, its hard to get into. We had to wait almost 2 months, but trust me- its really worth it! A+ more

It's very hard to find quality daycare in Northern Virginia. Look no further than Bright Start. What's great about Bright Start is that in addition to their full time program, they also offer a half day program (9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) as many days out of the week that you chose. We chose 2 days per week for our 2 1/2 year old and he gets excited every day we pull up. The center is VERY bright, has wonderful toys that challenge your childs imagination and the teachers seem to truly enjoy spending time with the kids. There are 10 children in my son's room and 3 teachers - a ratio higher than what the state mandates! Both a morning snack and lunch are provided, as well as diapers and wipes. Every day, when you pick your child up, you are given a daily report on what their mood was, what they ate for snack and lunch (and how well they ate), as well as what your child did that day. A great daycare center that I would recommend for both fulltime and part-time. more
