The Bright Star Restaurant in Bessemer is not only one of the oldest restaurants around, but in my opinion, also one of the best. They have a beautiful place on the inside and out. The inside is decorated with beautiful chandeliers and white table cloths. The food is absolutely wonderful. They specialize in steaks and fresh grilled or fried fish. The staff is always very friendly and strive to make your visit perfect. more

Bright Star 8/19/2005

The Bright Star resturant has been locally owned and operated in Bessemer, AL for approx. 100 years. It was once a really nice part of town but now its in the run down part. This is still at 4 star resturant with a widely known chef. They have valet parking and a wide menu. They have also been writen about in many magizines and have also had wonderful reviews. more

The Oldest Restaurant in Alabama 8/8/2005

This restaurant is the oldest in the state of Alabama. It has recently been remodeled, and it is much nicer inside, and now they have a huge waiting area. There is a very nice mural on the wall depicting the history of Bessemer. For lunch you can eat for $10-$15 and for supper for $18-$30. It is well worth it. Many famous people have eaten here. We went here on mothers day and we had to wait for a couple of hours but hey McDonalds has a wait on mothers day. more

Brighten Your Day 7/16/2005

The Bright Star is, by far, one of Birmingham's/Bessemer's finest restaurants. They specialize in Greek food, but serve a variety of cuisines, including American foods. They qill soon be celebrating their 100th anniversary, so can definiitely boast about heir standing the test of time. Stop by the Bright Star for a taste of Bessemer's finest food, along with a taste of history. more
