Bright Star Kids Academy

I thought this was one of the best daycares around until I starting not only seeing things for myself but also being told by numerous people the things that go on there. The center is more interested in making money than the safety and health of your children. The management is full of drama and they seem to pick on certain parents for no reason. If you talk to some of the teachers there, they will tell you that they hate it there and hate their job. The teachers have not ever been tested for any diseases, they do not practice safety drills or what to do in an emergency. If your child is attacked by another child, they won't do anything about it even thought their "financial agreement" clearly states that they have the right to refuse childcare to anyone family that puts harm on another child and believe me, speaking from experience, they really do NOTHING about it. Do not fall for the pretty look inside and out. Ask around and also look on the internet to find out the reviews. There have been 5 teachers that quit there to be stay at home nannies for some of the children that went there and those teachers and the parents of the children were treated really nasty. The only reason why they were voted #1 is because someone literally sat at their computer and clicked vote a million times, and that is coming straight from a couple teachers. There are a lot of things that go on that people do not know and I feel bad for the parents. Funny how when the Fire department comes over or anyone else to do their "inspections" they run around and make sure that everyone is doing what they are supposed to do to "cover things up" so that they won't get caught. Well if you aren't doing anything wrong or against the law, this should not be happening. These are your children and their health and safety is at risk at Bright Star. Not sure what the bad reviews were about, I disagree with them, they have no bad record, I checked with the state and none of its true. My daughter has attended since she was two and has had the same teacher since she started (Shes now 5). I have seen little staff leave this place since we started. The staff are warm and friendly, its very clean, has an outstanding playground, and an educational program. The price is good for the area. My daughter loves it there. The teachers are really caring and fun.We may be moving soon and have not found care comparable to the care and facility we receive at Bright Star. The director is awesome, the teachers are very friendly and very dedicated to making the center a educational yet loving place for children and parents. You wont be dissapointed its a great center! This center is not fit for childcare. CPS has been called numerous times - check it out, it's public record, Some of the complaints were dismissed but remember CPS and DSHS have been responsible for various issues including the death of children because they dismissed claims. The problem is they tell the provider when they are coming so the center "cleans up their act" for that time period then they go back to normal. this day care is more interested in your payments being on time than they are the safety of your children. there have been many safety issues in the last month that have been passed on and not taken care of. management is lacking in parent communication skills and children's welfare. i would not recommend this day care for anything except pet care. Recently this place has taken a 360 in great care, once a wonderful, educational, safe place to have your child, now a disaster. Many safety concerns have arisen. The center has been reported to CPS at least 4 times in the just the past month. Teacher turnover is terrible. When new teachers arrive, they're not introduced to parents. They don't follow their pick up policy if a parent arranges for someone else to pick up, they don't ID the person at all. My child transfered from a home daycare, and I thought the transition would be difficult, but it wasnt- they are so nice, the activities they plan for the children are fun but educational. My son has gone there for 3 years.Its clean and bright, the toys are great and the play ground is fantastic.
