Briesacher, Mark R, Md - Holladay Pediatrics

We found Dr. Briesacher quite by mistake and thank God daily that we did. My great grandson developed multiple problems shortly after birth and it is my honest belief that if it wasn't for Dr. Briesacher my great grandson would be dead. Instead he just turned 9. Dr. Briesacher and his staff talk to you as if you really do have a brain and explain to you what is happening as they happen. They make you part of the treatment. I have and will continue to recommend him to anyone with children. When you call after hours you talk to a physician with the office not some third party medical personnel or God help us some well meaning answering service who attempts to give advise. Need pediatricians who care and are knowledgeable? Call Dr. Briesacher's office, Holladay Pediatrics. You will be happy you did and so won't your child. They are with you 100%. He even went to NICU (?) at night. . .something I have not seen a pediatrician do in years. They usually have staff (?) who work solely at the hospitals and relay information to the pediatricians instead. Been a mom for 53 years now, I think my recommendation means something and I whole heartedly recommend Dr. Mark Briesacher and his associates at Holladay Pediatrics. more

Mark Briesacher has been my family's pediatrician for 14 years. I love him and am so deeply saddened that I have to find another doctor for my kids as I have moved out of Utah. Even when we lived in St. George, I would schedule their doctors appointments around family visits to Salt Lake City. He is warm and kind and very skilled/knowledgable. I completely disagree with the review titled ""Do Your Homework"". Dr. B saw my daughter for 11 years and always made the right decisions. I credit him for saving my older daughter's life. She has serious health issues that she was being hospitalized for frequently and as soon as we were referred to Dr. B she was much healthier and went to the hospital much less. My daughter has Acid Reflux among other issues and he helped her not hurt her. My children had shots done in the office for years and never had problems with them. When I get shots in my leg it hurts for a few days but I never thought to make it an excuse to smear somebody's name on the internet. We have since moved to Texas and have not nor will we ever find a doctor as great as Dr. B. Pros: Great with babies and older children. more

My son saw Dr B for a year in 2006. I was a first time mom and didn't have a lot of experience..so when I freaked out about my newborn's weird breathing patterns..he just said..oh i thought i mentioned that was normal..NOO..he didn't. When the nurse's assistant gave my son shots which were done so poorly he couldn't crawl for 3 DAYS..the nurse just said..oh..it's just temporary. When my son started refluxing 3-4 times a day and the Dr B's nurse would just say..well, that's nothing to really worry about for 3 months..I switched doctors who diagnosed my son with acid reflux and prescribed him Prevacid so he could FINALLY start gaining weight. Yes, if you have a generally healthy children I think he would be adequate. But if you have a child with multiple issues..you might want to look around. Especially if you want to stagger your child's vaccination schedule..he is NOT open to discussion and just prescribes infant tylenol for the high fevers that my son experienced from the bad reactions for having multiple vacs at the same time.. Before I had my son I visited with numerous pediatricians... I virtually interviewed and screened them because I was a new mom and wanted only the best of course! Pros: fully attentive, gentle with infants and sweet with kids Cons: A little far from where I live now, but worth the drive. more

I've been taking all three of my children to Dr Briesacher for about 10yrs and I love him. He always takes the time to answer any questions I have with out making me feel like I'm taking up too much time. Dr. Briesacher and his nurses were very surportive of my choice to breastfeed, they offered advice and tips to make it easier on me and the baby. Going to Dr Briesacher is kind of out of the way for me but it is worth it. more

We met Dr. Briesacher at LDS hospital when my son was born, 9yrs. ago, he has been our Dr. for both children since. He is very knowledgeable and always takes the time to answer our questions. My son has asthma, Dr. Briesacher trusts me as a mother he listens to whats going on with my child so needless visits are not required. If your a parent who wants to work with your doctor this it the clinic for you!!! Pros: Great at call backs! His nurse almost always takes my calls or returns them quickly! Cons: He has to have days off. Ha Ha He is a bit out of the way for us, but worth it. more

I was not very happy with the doctor either. His nurse was always very curt and very seemed concerned. If you are breastfeeding, this is not the doctor for you. He will recommend formula when he feels a child needs to put on weight. more

Dr. B was our pediatrician for 7 years, and he's the BEST! We completely disagree with the comments above--his nurse, Diane, couldn't be nicer or more responsive. You can always talk to someone when you need to. HIGHLY recommeneded--without a doubt the best doctor we've ever had. more

MY SON USED THIS PEDIATRICIAN FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS. GREAT DOCTOR BUT EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF. DON'T RETURN PHONE CALLS WELL AND HIS NURSE WAS NOT VERY PLEASANT. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM JUST FOR THIS REASON. ALOT OF TIMES YOU WORK MORE WITH THE NURSES, ETC. THEN THE DOCTOR. Pros: GOOD DOCOTOR, CARING Cons: RUDE STAFF, NO APPTS. AVAIL, LONG WAIT TIMES more
