Bridge Road Bistro

It was our 5th Anniversary & seeing we had our 1st lunch at Bridge Road Bistro we decided this was the place to ring in 2011.....However. $85 a head PLUS 20 percent ""Auto Tip""...for a table for two? 1st for us. We started with a waiter that was READY to go on vacation and have this night behind him...too bad for us. He was slow between courses where I had to walk to the bar for cocktails (Great Martini however!). We are Charleston Locals....but I guess not ""local"" enough. As this seems to be a place were you ""Must"" be known to receive decent service. We left with ""how was everything at this table, great"" from our waiter (which we heard echoed from a table behind us) & $235 lighter more

From the moment I walked in the door, my friends and I felt unwelcome. Perhaps it was that god awful painting of the pig behind the bar. Perhaps it was the artificial greeting of the hostess, the haughty attitude of our server, or the icy looks from other patrons. I am really not sure. \r \r I have never had a more unfriendly and absurd dining experience. I had the feeling that we were trespassing some how. The looks from staff and the other customers alike sent the message, ""How dare you come to OUR bistro!"" \r \r Besides the fact that the whole place reeked with pretentiousness, the food was mediocre and extremely overpriced in its mediocrity. \r \r I have just moved to WV from the Baltimore/DC metro area and have had the opportunity to dine in some of the best restaurants those cities boasted. I have eaten five star cuisine...and what is served at the South Ridge Bistro is not it. I was not impressed. And I do not intend to return. Cons: haughty staff, overpriced, mediocre food more

The layout is modest, the people are friendly and the food is extraordinary!! Weather you're grabbing Hors d'?uvre at the 'Cheers' like atmosphere bar or sitting in a booth by the kitchen- the food is eclectic, flavorful, and curiously, amazing! The matching of spirits with exotic foods and contemporary serving styles- this is a neuvo landmark for West Virginia! Gracias Chef Paco! Pros: Charleston comfort with world-class cuisine!
