Bridal Beginning

I had a wonderful experience at Bridal Beginning. The staff were very kind. My mother and I waited for a brief moment to be escorted to a private dressing room, with two chairs, a stage and a wall of mirrors. I showed the sales-woman dresses that I was interested in, she brought five options in and I ended up buying the fifth! They made the whole process very easy, considering it was my first time trying on dresses. Definitely give the store a chance! more

To all of you soon to be brides (whether you are in Pittsburgh or not) I would highly recommend purchasing your dress at Bridal Beginning. From the start of my experience to the finish the customer service I received was truly ""over the top."" I had been to many bridal boutiques in Pittsburgh (my hometown) and Atlanta where I currently reside. After trying on over 35 dresses, Dorothy, the consultant at Bridal Beginning brought me the first and last dress I ever tried on. From start to finish my experience was nothing but superlative! It meant a lot to me to buy my dress in Pittsburgh, even though I anticipated difficulty in setting up the multiple fittings and transporting the dress, however, the team at Bridal Beginning not only eliminated those concerns but truly went above and beyond to make it a fabulous experience! I want to give special thanks to Marianna (the highly talented seamstress), Lisa (the manager) and of course Pam (the owner) for walking my Mother and I through this step-by-step. more

I first visited Exquisite Bride and was not treated well. It did not feel special. I am from Washington DC (attending school in Pittsburgh) and my parents urged me to purchase my gown closer to home. I went into Bridal Beginning by myself just to browse. There was a consultant available to help me so I began looking at dresses. Lisa was so patient and energetic. She narrowed in on exactly what I was looking for. Once we found my dress, she did not pressure me. I was able to get my entire family to come for a visit and brought them all to Bridal Beginning. We showed them a few dresses and then the one I had chosen. They all loved it, even my father. I was measured and order the dress. It came in last week and fit PERFECTLY! I needed no alterations. I had a very good experience when purchasing my wedding gown. My consultant was very helpful in finding what looked best on me. I tried several dresses on and then reviewed the ones I liked. It was about a 2 1/2 hour process from start to finish. It was a very crowded day, but I was made to feel welcome from the minute I walked in the door. I read some of the other reviews and was hesitant to go to bridal beginning, but I am glad I did. As far as the complaint from hch03...really, someone took a drink into a room with dresses (white dresses) worth thousands of dollars? more

I purchased my bridal gown at Bridal Beginning and was treated very well from my 1st visit all the way to my last fitting. Eddie helped me find the perfect gown and was very patient. I knew that alterations , if done well, are expensive anywhere. but I felt they were not too expensive for the way my gown ended up looking. It was a perfect fit with a beautiful bussel Overall it was a great experience. more

I went in to shop for Bridal Gowns, I waited at the front desk for 5-10 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there, the one lady at the front desk was on the phone but several other employees walked by without saying a word. When I finally did get checked in she said someone will be with you shortly, 25 minutes after my appointment time the consultant introduced herself and her demeanor was as if we were the late ones. She was beyond rude to my 3 bridesmaid, she asked what were more

My sister purchased her wedding dress here and the consultant we had was wonderful- not pushy, not judgmental, and pulled beautiful dresses. more

Beware! Do not listen to their seamstresses about your size. I was told that I needed a size that I thought was pretty large, but trusted the seamstress that she measured correctly and knew the designer. I called a few days later, after trying on dresses by many other designers for another wedding. Dresses 3 - 4 sizes smaller fit me everywhere else. I was told there was nothing I could do, to wait until it came in and then see. Well, I went to try it on, and it literally fell off of me. The manager kept pulling it back saying that it fit. Obviously, it fits when you are pulling it. There was no arguing with them. Save your money and go elsewhere for alterations. There is no way they will every get another dime out of me. Also, the manager came in and called me by a shortened form of my first name, I guess as a way to make it seem like we were old friends. I found this particularly irritating because they were not taking me seriously at all. When I informed them that I would write a bad review, she told me how insulted she was that I would do that to a family business. Cons: rude/inaccurate more

I went to Bridal Beginning to shop for my wedding dress. I went in thinking i knew what i wanted. My consultant patiently pulled tons of dresses, and let me take my time. Then she said she wanted me to try one on that was not like the others... she said she wanted to see it on me. And guess what?? She was a dress psychic!! my sister and I burst into tears. It was perfect. Through the entire process, when the dress arrived, the alterations, everything was unimaginably wonderful. Pros: Wonderful Customer Service! Cons: I had to drive a hour - but it was worth it. more

I went there to look for bridesmaid dresses, and when I walked in, no one asked if I needed help, even though I had an appointment. They ignored both me and my bridesmaid. When I approached the counter and said I have an appointment, the woman was very rude. I told her I already had my dress and she was even more rude about that!! She tried to hurry us out of there as fast as she could. I was asking about a dress my bridesmaid tried on, and the woman, who actually pulled the dress for us, claimed the store didn't carry it so she didn't have to find out information for me. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. There are other boutiques in the area with the same merchandise and way better service. Pros: Nice Merchandise Cons: Horrible Service more

I went to the Bridal Beginning after going to every other bridal shop in Pittsburgh and I wish I would have went there first. The staff was so helpful and their selection is unbelievable! When I walked in I couldn't believe how many dresses there were to pick from. I felt like a princess the whole time I was there. They listened to what I wanted and they brought me in dresses that I never thought I would like but fell in love with. They really know what they are doing. I bought my dress, my headpiece, my veil, and my bridesmaids dresses there. I have never felt so beautiful and my girls all loved their gowns. They all got a different style and looked fabulous. Every detail was perfect! Save yourself the agony of crumby service and poor taste and go straight to Bridal Beginning. Pros: Huge selection, Staff with great taste and service, Great Prices more

The sales clerks are great and they will help you find the perfect bridal gown, but don't use their seamstress. She is rude, slow, and she will cut corners to get your dress out the door. I loved my dress, until she got her hands on it. A store of this caliber should select their seamstresses much more carefully. more
